S/C kit from URD for the 4Runner 4.7L V8!!

The first time I called URD, I was disappointed that a person didn't answer the phone. I left a message and within an hour Brian called back and took a fair amount of time to address my specific questions and issues.
It's more than worth being patient. Good people, trying to handle lots of questions- thoroughly.
In my opinion, they are doing a good job. I just have to write down my questions and such, since I might forget by the time they call back

If memory serves me correctly URD is a two man operation with one of the men having another job besides URD. Anyway unless something has changed...

Phizzle Phizzle, Pop Pop...........and the URD S/C is no where to be seen....dead I guess.

Sucks? "Development" means "it ain't ready and we're workin' on it." (Okay, that may not be the Webster definition, but you get the point )
When a company takes on a development project and isn't satisfied with the progress, results, profit, market, or any of a number of factors, they make a choice whether to bring it to market or not.
Looks like, unfortunately, URD has decided not to bring this product to market. THAT sucks for us, but I wouldn't say the company is bad because we're disappointed.
Not trying to start a flame war here, but the guys at URD have helped a number of folks on this forum and I'd hate to see others get the wrong impression.
Just my .02 ...

URD does not suck, at least they didn't market a flawed product, unlike TRD which did. They will not allow anyone to reinstall the supercharger after the engine fails, and will not refund your money-so they basically steal your money. I will never buy another trd product again-thieves!!

what sucks is a total lack of communication with the community that supports the product that they are trying to develop. Not only would it help their reputation, but probably help their product as well. Yes, URD is slow and yes URD sucks at communication. I have yet to be able to get them on the phone at ANY time. I have left messages and emails and gotten responses, but I hate the delay and lack of dialog that can occur in emails and phone messages.
Lets not forget that they already had a kit out for a nearly identical application and there were numerous persons from this board that attempted to contact them about the kit but even fewer were graced with a response. Member Blink is lucky as he has help from Ex-URD employees in constructing and design of his non-intercooled setup that he currently runs. As such, he has the ONLY URD supercharged 2uz-fe engine out there. Has a single person heard anything about the midpipes that were supposedly "in development" for the 4runner as well?
TRD sucks more becasue they are a poser bunch of people. They were going the right direction with the supercharger but when they found out that they had made mistakes with it, they just yanked it and since then have pretty much just offered gay racing pedal sets and wheels rather than being a true "racing development" arm.
I, as much as anyone, would love to see some products for the 4runner offered from URD or any comapny that can step up to the plate. Hell, i even purchased a set of tundra/sequoia headers from JBA and attempted to "cut and paste" them to fit the 4runner with little luck, so its not like im not pulling my weight around here.
I would just like to see some progress rather than nothing. nothing is what we are getting alot of, both in products and communication. while we 4runner people have been waiting they have introduced many a product for the FJ and new Tundra. I fully understand the thought process behind why they may or maynot bring a product to market but at least when you decide not to, let those that have expressed an interest in the products know. Customer service, even if you cant offer a product, is better than nothing.

I havent looked into the STS system...although i am quite familiar with it. My issue with the system is even if it were to fit and work, I would be quite concered with protection of all the associated hardlines even though my rig sees about 80% on road action.
with so few fuel solutions availbile as well, that would be my other major concern

I looked into the STS system when I had my 4Runner also. They don't even make a system specifically for the 4Runner, but for the Tundra, and you have the piping custom fabbed to fit. My biggest issues were price and suceptibility to damage. Personally, I don't think the STS kit is worth the trouble.

the RDX isnt for me...its really for my girl. She's currently in a 2004 VW Golf 2.0. She needs more room and I think that something like a RDX would be great because of the high quality, low depreciation, high performance of it.
I really liked the Rav4 with the V6 as well but having AWD and that turbo I4 out of the RDX allows for some serious aftermarket possibilities out of the box. Im keeping the 4runner, no doubt about that as just the other day I was up in the mountains that surround Las Vegas and even with my Proxes S/T tires, I was getting into places that guys with pickups and non-sport oriented tires couldnt get in and/or out of. I just laughed and laughed.
