S-Tech Switch System Install Guide

Hi All!

Or if your curious to see the full setup of the system. I personally went in the reverse order then the directions provided from S-Tech but install result were the same. I started by installing the switches and housing first just because of my schedule later in the day and preferred to not have wires laying around.

Materials Needed

• Drill
• Step or 3/4 Spade drill AND 1/8 Drill Bit
• Ratchet and 11mm (Socket extension recommended)
• Pliers
• Wire pull or Small metal rod
• Razor
• Electrical tape or Liquid Electrical tape
• Dielectric Grease or lube of choice

This should go without saying but Disconnect the Battery before starting

1. First things first you need to disassemble and remove the storage are below the head unit. For the sake of length here is a great video on the disassembly from a owner on youtube. (If you're on here that video was perfect) YouTube

2. With the storage tray removed you need to make a make a 3/4" hole in the lower tray. Do this on the left side of tray as that is where the wires are linked together. Take your step drill bit and drill a clean hole. Remove any burrs if any preside to avoid the risk of a wire getting cut.

3. Next take your template provided by S-tech and set it flush against the the bottom of the rear cubby portion. Take your 1/8 Drill bit and drill 2 holes in the spots indicated by the template on the sides.

4. Now take your switches and housing and feed the rear connector through the hole in the rear. NOTE: before inserting it remember to remove the stickers on the side of the housing covering the holes. (after trying to line the holes up for a solid 15 mins I realized one side was covered by a sticker)

4.5 Once that's done push the housing all the way in and the holes should line up perfectly. Screw in the 2 small black screws and that's it!
Go ahead and fully reassemble the the tray and shifter area back into the area. You can easily connect to the switches later by removing the trim piece on the driver side of the tray.

Your housing should sit perfectly flush

Now we move onto the Engine bay side of the install

1. Locate the driver side firewall (just below the driver side hood strut) Take your razor and make a very small .5" cut from inside cutting outward away from the other wires. This is gonna be enough to get all the wiring into the cabin.

2. Next grab the small 6 pin connector and the red wire feeding from the positive terminal. With your small metal rod (or wire puller) grab your electrical tape and tape them to the rod in a gradual increase from the point to the 6 pin connector. To make this easy insure that there are no "steps" in your taping. You want a smooth transition to get it through.
*Highly recommend grabbing some sort of lubricant, in my case I used silicone lubricant and sprayed a fair amount on the tape before attempting to insert. This helped it slide through with ease.

3. Gently guide the wire through the small slit you cut. Be careful to avoid cutting any wires that pass through the firewall. Once inserted a fair amount head into the cabin and pull it through. Now untape and carefully pull the rod back out from the engine bay. And boom you're done running wires inside!

4. Connect the 6-pin connector to the back of the switch housing, either before reassembling the head unit area, or in my case my removing the trim piece to the left tray. To finalize your interior area install take the red wire lead and crimp it to the provided fuse tap. Connect to a fuse of your choice, I chose the 7.5ACC, fuse this way the system only lights up when the key is in the ignition and in ACC or ON. Cut the cover and place back on if you choose or leave off. Tuck and lay your excess wires for a clean install.

5. If you havent already it's time to decide which side you want the unit on. The bracket provided by S-Tech allows for both passenger and driver side. In my case I chose the driver side until I decide the remaining layout of my engine bay.
-Grab your bracket and bolts with the fixed washer and bolt them down about half-way so you can adjust its position in the next step of the install.

6. Grab the unit and the remaining 2 bolts and nuts. And Attach the unit to the bracket. And now its time to make your connections.

7. 60 Amp Breaker- NOTE: The breaker is marked for the correct connection on that side. Take your positive lead from the unit and bolt attach it to the AUX side. Then take the lead from the battery and connect it to the BAT side. Once thats done find a place to mount it. I placed it on the side of the engine with a screw through a pre-existing hole.

8. For the ground this connection is up to you. Being a spade terminal I loosened up the bolt for the existing engine ground and slid the terminal in and re-tightened the bolt. And for the last connection run the battery side connection from the breaker to the battery and connect it to the positive! Clean up remaining connections and zip-tie to clean up your install.

9. Connect your battery, take a seat and turn on your ignition and if you did every correctly you'll be greeted by the illumination of the switches!
