I picked up my 4Runner from a single owner in Colorado Springs, CO. Came complete with service records, just over 200k and all stock. Before picking this up I've built my Honda S2000 over about a 10 year period. So many awesome builds on here and a lot of inspiration. Looking forward to hit some trails! Finally got around to finishing my switchback corner lights project. I debated painting the housing black but wasnt sure how much light I would loose so for now they are still chrome. I have them wired so that when I turn on the parking light, the white comes on. I plan to wire them as a DRL. When turn signal activated, white cuts off and amber blinks. I may remove bumper blinker and do something with that but not sure yet.

It feels a lot better and firmer than the stock suspension that was on there, but to be fair it looked to be original and worn out. I looked at other setups but found this should be more than enough for me at the moment and the price was reasonable for the amount of lift you gain.

Those sliders are indestructible just the way they come from Stubbs. Nothing wrong with going a little overkill, I guess.

Nice build so far. Your rig is setup very similar to how mine was when I got started, and kind of makes me miss the simplicity that remains in the early stages. Go use it and see where the weak spots are for your purposes before you add a bunch of steel to it.

Nice S2000, also. I bet that thing is fun to drive.

When looking at the AT2's the 295s offered more sidewall protection and slightly deeper tread than the 285's.

Thanks, the guy that welded it on for me just suggested that he could do it so I figured what the heck might as well since they're off. I'm hoping to get time away from work to get it up in the mountains soon.

Haven't updated for awhile...

Re-geared diffs to 4.88s. Got the rear installed and wired up, still need some time to get front diff installed. Wiring was pretty straight forward with all the write-ups on T4R and Timmy the Toolmans youtube videos.

Couldn't find anyone that has added the RR DIFF LOCK indicator in the 01-02 clusters. I managed to modify and use parts from an earlier gauge cluster, and use the blank spot the 01-02 had.The gauge face on top is from my 01. I cut out the center section which is normally a solid black "empty" space. The lower gauge face is from the earlier gauges that have the RR indicator. By pure luck, the RR happens to be in the center which allowed me to cut out holes for my ABS and GAS light to still be illuminated. Overlap them and this is the result:

After the gauge faces were finished up, I simply soldered some wires to the back of a bulb socket and ran the wires the my e-locker wiring. Not the best soldering but it seemed solid and everything works:

A few buddies went to china wall near Florissant for some camping and wheeling from August. Also picked up some other goodies last year including a Rocky Mountain Racks roof rack and a Coastal Offroad front bumper.

Still have some trimming to do around the bumper . Figuring out what I should do to get the washer fluid reservoir out of the way. I'm considering getting a rear bumper as well for 2019. I did replace the speakers and add a small 10" sub. I plan to make some sort of enclosure using the cargo storage in the back to get it out of the way. Looking forward to getting her out more this year.

Couldn't find anyone that has added the RR DIFF LOCK indicator in the 01-02 clusters.

Shhhh.... Let's keep this our secret and we will be the only ones, lol. Nobody could figure out why I was looking for an older gauge cluster last year.

I actually didn’t take too many photos while making this but I’ll see what I have. I basically just followed some DIY’s on fiberglass sub enclosures. Purchased a piece of 2” pvc from Lowe’s that gave me a good starting point since they fit the gauges perfect. Some cutting in my spare console I snagged from a pick and pull, stretched fabric over the pvc to give me the shape and start laying some fiberglass! Simple project just a little time consuming.

Cool 2 inch pvc to fit gauges, spare console, fiberglass tape and resin/Gardner to form...sand it, paint it?

This is all I could find for pictures while I was making it. Once the pvc is cut, I used some screws to keep all three together. Then from there, I screwed that pvc "assembly" to the console where I had used a dremel to make room for it to slide in. Keep the depth of your gauges in mind because space is tight under that console, thats why I have the gauges raised as much as they are. I also tried angled the gauges to face me as opposed to flush with center console. For the initial shape, I went to a fabric store and bought fabric that was thin and easy to stretch. Use that fabric to wrap around the entire top half of the console, tucking it in from behind and tack it in place. I then used fiberglass resin to saturate the fabric giving me the hard surface to work with once it cures. Then I cut out the holes for the gauges, hit it with some sand paper and lay fiberglass for strength and lay more fiberglass resin. Once I had the shape I was happy with, I used bondo to smooth out and fill any imperfections.
