So a few months ago I was drooling over some of you guys' cargo boxes and cargo organizers and JSMArine's super sweet MOLLE seat covers.
I was trying to come up with something that would allow me more cargo organization and add some gear attachment points for my Bug Out gear bags, ect.
I found a little company called Safari Straps that had some thing that might just work.
$55 for the large cargo net seemed pretty good to me, so I got one.
Here is how I set mine up...
Re used the OEM floor D-rings and made a 1/8" thick bracket from material bought from Home Depot . This was where the factory cargo cover retainers were located.
For the front of the net mounts, I ran the strap throught the factory seat belt loops that are connected to the seat belt bolts.
Using the cargo cover as a load bearing point, I flopped it over and tightened down the straps.
All snugged up
I works pretty damn good for a shelf/cargo cover. I toss my kids stuff top and keep my gear secured to the straps and it keeps it all right where I can get to it.
Its nice for headed to the mountains to do some shooting also. I use the net to hold the guns and cases, and keep all the ammo and clays underneath.
I will probably re do the cargo cover / weight bearing set up in the future.
