Remember, the LS460 engine is a CAR engine...with torque peak of 4000 rpm (i think). This is NOT good for a truck/SUV with towing/off-roading potential.

Unlike some other manufacturers that mix car and truck engines together, Lexus/Toyota is pretty good at separating car and SUV/truck engine lines.

I agree with Thai. Car engine is not good for Off-Road vehicle. It might be good for cross-over, but not off-road.
BTW, in Europe we used to divide such vehicles into cross-over (RAV4, Highlander) and off-road (4Runner, FJ); here in North America all of them called SUV.

Agreed, that HP curve is not truck/suv friendly at all. Little tough off road with that RPM. Not great for pulling a trailer either.

car and truck engines , although the same displacement are very different. I remember when Chev. put the 454 truck engine in the 71/72 Corvette, slower than crap , but could pull a house....lol
