Couple more pics of repair and the KBB value. From what I read, salvage title will reduce the value anywhere between 20-100% of the actual value

The spots that were hit are critical for body strength and the gap on the door makes me wonder how well it was done..and the rear wheel taking a hard shot could cause big issues with suspension or frame alignment.....that is too much money for those issues and using it as a daily driver IMO.

An independent insurance adjuster looked at the damage to that 4R and determined it would be more expensive to fix right than it would be to total it. I don’t understand why anyone would ever think a salvage was fixed the right way. If that was doable, the insurance company would have had it fixed and given it back to their customer. IMO anyway...

What you do is your business but keep in mind car dealers will not touch Savage Title if you decide to trade it in later down the road. And yes I think $26G is too much for it.

It was totaled for a reason. Also, I don't believe any insurance company will give you full coverage. It's already been totaled and paid out on, that won't happen again. Body work and paint looks pretty good, doesn't mean it was done right though. As stated above, the cost to do it correctly was more than the value of the truck. I would not touch it not when you can get a non salvage 4R for the same money. Another thing to note is those tires and brand new. How much damage was covered up before those pictures were taken. Was the axles damaged, shocks and springs damaged, who knows what really happened.

You know why pictures on a vehicle like that are always so grainy right? Because the paint sucks. And sucky paint means sucky everything else.

Blitz has spoken.

Agree with all of the above. That truck will never be right again. Maybe fine for a full on wheeler rather than daily driver but better get it way cheaper than that.

Absolutely not. It would probably be a good $10-12k purchase for someone. However, once a vehicle has structural damage, especially on pillars or the frame, it will never be the same.

Before buying have a scan of computer done, if airbags were deployed run don’t walk away

Appreciate the feedback guys. My intuition was saying no from the get go so I'll pass and yes the side airbags did deploy

Heck no!
The ultra high strength steele in the B-pillars and possibly rocker has been heavly compromised. The body did what it was supposed to do and obviously didn’t make it out “alive”. I would never put myself or family in a vehicle with a compromised safety structure.

Ill almost bet thereare ripples from impact in the roof.

That 4Runner is a liability for whoever is driving it. Just imagine if the owner gets hit on the same side again and because its already had a major impact the structure wont do what it was designed to do. Buy extra medical coverage for ur passengers if u go for it.

Airbags, b-pillars, rocker panels and quarter panels are replaced everyday in the collision repair world. And if done correctly, the vehicle should be just as safe as ever.

Problem is...you have no idea if it was done correctly. Bondo and paint can hide a lot.

Even if repaired correctly, you still know it was hammered every time you look at it.

Sending this from Kauai, so I know of prices on the islands for 4Runners and Tacos are high to begin with. That said, I'm in agreement with the majority. From the pics alone, which truly don't show much, the repair looks decent. It's very hard to market value a salvage titled vehicle. Getting away from the arguments about structural integrity, important as they are, I would value this vehicle at no more than $18k-$20k on the high side. Too many variables to give you any further advice. I might consider it if I absolutely wanted a 5th Gen, and could not afford anything over that price range. You will though live with what you bought, and will have to deal with the branded title when/if you sell. If someone is even considering it, have the vehicle inspected by a certified body shop, independent of the seller.

I bought a new 2017 TRD OR premium for 39,500 with KDSS and Sunroof. I certainly would not buy a totaled '15 for 26,000.

I worked in the car industry for 8 years. Any car that came in with a salvage title or saying "totaled" on carfax...we would do half of NADA Rough Trade In Value. I worked for a couple dealers and they all used the same guidelines. Never buy a car like that unless you are planning on using it for only track or off road use and paying cash. Some finance companies will not even finance a car like that and insurance companies sometimes will not insure that either. Just spreading some knowledge to help. In English...STAY AWAY! Sounds like someone who totaled it and did not have gap insurance and was stuck with it and got it fixed and hoping to get more money out of it. Just a prediction.
