Well I figured it was about time to document my 4runner. Nothing crazy but it's slowly transforming to something I can be proud of.

2000 4runner 5spd Sport 4wd 225k miles.

How she sits now now::

Started with brakes front and rear (adam's rotors) as the rear shoes were smoked.



Then it was straight to the upgrades.

toytec 3" lift
OME shocks
adjustable upper control arms

ARB air locker in the rear with compressor and on board air kit (no pics of that)







Then on to tires and wheels.

16x8 steelies with 285/75/16 cheapie mudders

$600 for 5 tires mounted and balanced

Trip to pismo beach went swimmingly, almost. Sand storm right as we were setting up tents prevented us from camping so we rented a beach house.

Next came the cheap-o rock sliders ($219 I think)











Fabbed up some nice gussets outta 3/16 mild steel. The sliders didn't seem strong enough by themselves.

















VERY STRONG NOW!!


Decided to do a clutch while it was on the rack. Along with all fluids and rear diff service. ARB was taking a long time to lock up. Turns out the o-rings failed and the air line was full of oil. Got some new ones in there and works like a charm now.





Went to visit a friend in Portland OR, hit up browns camp for some guns and wheeling.

Painted the sliders today, grip tape on the way for the top.

Went to Hollister this weekend, waiting for Scotty from Addicted Offroad to get back from Moab so he can build me some bumpers... I definitely needed them this weekend. Had to use my spare tire to get out of a hole. That ditch took me about 45 mins to get through. Really fun day.

Exciting news!

My bumpers showed up today, after 8 miserable weeks of being completely left out of the loop. Thanks to Scotty from Addicted Off-road for putting up with my constant emails. A little more communication would have been appreciated but they are here and they are purty.

Also have a Warn M8000 w/ synthetic rope to accompany these bad larrys.

Here we go, test fitting bumpers:

Powder coat all done, only $200!

Welding front crossmember on as per Scotty at Addicted (extra strength for winching)

paint it HOT and its just like homemade powder coat

now for the top light bar and switches for both:

There was already a hole in the roof under this little end cap. RTV'ed the hole for (hopefully) no leakage.

did some nice DT connectors with glue-lined shrink wrap to further prevent water leakage.

36" bar fits nice between the roof rack

and then after all that I decided to actually do some maintenance, probably should have thought of that before there was a huge stinger in my way!

I cant believe how easy these belts are (coming from german car world)

and thats it! (minus top light bar which is now mount on there)

yeah I am, I just put the 883 (heavy duty) coils in when I added the bumper and winch and it got a little stiffer but they are setting and it rides pretty nice

I think it was about $350, Its the Yakima load warrior w/ ~2' center extention.

just the load warrior itself would have only fit the tire and nothing else. now I can fit a tent, some chairs and a few other things.

Fit and finish of the addicted offroad stuff is top notch, I couldnt have mounted the front bumper crooked if I wanted to, and the rear slides over the rear frame rails w/ no adjustment but there was none needed. the body on the left side rear was touching ever so slightly but after about 2 bumps the pinch weld moved and clears now. I think its more of a sign that the body mounts are old and saggy than anything else.
