Sasquatch "Build" Thread

I bought my '11 TE, that I affectionately call "Sasquatch", back at the end of August here in Denver. Had been driving a white '12 WRX (named "Yeti", seeing a pattern?), but wanted some extra space and better ride quality, without sacrificing mountain capability.

I was happy to find this truck as it already had the blacked out stock TE wheels, tinted tail lights, and TRD Intake. I LOVE the way it looks now, and don't want to change it too drastically.

The first thing I did was found a Yakima Load Warrior (with extension) on craigslist, so I'd have that much extra space for mountain trips. It fits on the stock roof rack perfectly, doesn't hang over the sunroof and the rear hatch can still open fully without touching the basket.

Since I do a good amount of skiing/snowboarding/mountain biking, WeatherTech floor mats and a Husky Weather Beater tray were a must.

I'd like to add Shrockworks sliders and skid plates, and then eventually throw on a lift and some bigger tires but am in no rush. I do quite a bit of driving (13k since September), so I'm not in a hurry to lower the mpg any faster than I have to.

WeatherTech Floor Mats

Wow... I'm sure anyone who already has these knows this, but these mats are awesome! Fit is perfect and so far they've held up well.

Cargo Area Lighting

I really like Snooperstyle's 'Cargo area LED light mod' but am in no way comfortable disassembling my truck to replicate the results. My thought is to use the rear cigarette lighter for lights mounted in a similar position. Has anyone used something like this:

shopping

I wouldn't use the 'Beat' function and would want white lights... but I figure something like this is probably out there.

Cargo Area Lighting

So, I've never been accused of being patient... I went ahead and did a hybrid of Snooperstyle's cargo area lighting and the idea I posted above. It took me all of 10 minutes to complete:

Step 1: Buy 12v adapter and LED light strip ($30 at AutoZone/PepBoys/wherever)

Step 2: Mount light(s) using 3M strip on back

Step 3: Splice wires together and cover connection with electrical tape

Step 4: Plug 12v adapter in

I still have the other 12" LED strip and am debating where to put it. Either right next to the current LED strip, on the driver side same spot, or immediately behind the passengers side back seat on the gray plastic... Will look at the difference in light tonight. (edit: went with immediately behind the passengers side back seat on the gray plastic)

Maintenance Required

So, I hopped in the truck the other day to head to work and this greeted me:

After some extensive research on the forum and several PMs to senior members I determined the only way to get this light to go off would be by adding a 3" OME lift, 285 Duratracs, and a Gobi Stealth roof rack...

Light should be off by mid-May!

And I love it! Great work by the guys over at High Country Performance 4x4 in Englewood, CO.

Looks great! Plasti-dip the wheels or PC?

How much room do you have under that garage door and the roof rack? Looks like a tight fit.

Thanks! Pretty sure the wheels are plasti-dipped. Actually going to plasti-dip my rear emblem this weekend, so I'll compare finishes then to maybe have a better idea. Wheels were black when I bought it (about 50k on the odometer at the time).

Not much, lol. Maybe 3". I've got a Gobi Stealth on order, and I think when it's installed I'll be parking in the alley...

St. Mary's Glacier

Took the folks up to St. Mary's Glacier yesterday. It's about a 3/4 mile hike from the parking lot. Needless to say, gorgeous setting.

NZ and beyond

Hey everyone,
Quit my job back in June and with it went the work computer I'd been using, so haven't been around here hardly at all in the past few months. I decided to 'move' to New Zealand and take off from Denver 9/23. That being said, Sasquatch is going to a friend for the foreseeable future, and will hopefully return to me whenever I decide to come back. I do have a set of four (4) Hankook Dynapro ATMs and a Raptor Style Grill for sale if someone's interested. Hope to get caught up on happenings on here sometime soon.

Cheers!
