satoshi grill mod 02 3rd gen

here is my build thread on my version of the the satoshi mod. I have not done the mesh insert on the grill yet do to the fact that i didn't get the mesh cut and aligned before i started painting. (which is my own dumb fault) but anyway here it is.

i bought a small screwdriver looking saw for metal and wood and used that to cut the middle inserts out of the grill.

next up i started to sand down the grill which was chrome and i hate it. since it was chrome i got a good respirator to protect myself.

once it was all sanded down i made a paint booth out of 2 bungie cords and fishing line and suspended the grill from my car port. i gave it 2 coats of primer came out looking pretty good.

after the primer dried i gave it 3 coats of black plastic paint. this picture is the final product. ill write about the emblem after.

for the emblem i decided to put the mesh that i planned on using for the grill behind the emblem. all i did for this was cut a square big enough for the emblem then made the holes big enough for the pegs on the back of them emblem go through then pushed it all flush and cut around the emblem.

here is the grill on the vehicle. IMO it looks pretty good will do the mesh on the grill soon just don't want to sand down the whole thing again just yet.

i don't have the skill to do the whole satoshi mod on my current grill bc it would involve cutting and bondo which I'm not about to deal with at the moment. i will have the mesh in place hopefully soon its not a completed piece yet. also i did say its my version of the satoshi mod.

i like the looks so far. Once the mesh is in the inserts its gonna kinda look pretty sick! here is my stab at this mod (sorta)

my mesh is the same as behind the emblem so its gonna be smaller holes. it will look pretty good with the mesh in it as well

You need the earlier grill to do the true satoshi mod anyways ... but I like where this is going kind of like satoshi V.2 cant wait to see final pics
