Narkhelek... WTF! you have ruined my night! trimming? that is way over my head... I'll probably take a finger off in the process! It was suppose to be pre-cut!!! pre-cut man!!!
but seriously thanks for the heads up, if you didn't tell me I would have probably just kept messing with it trying to get it to fit then called Toyota and said "my OEM grill is not the correct size according to customcargrills.com"

Vegas, you're killing me man. 
I used 3M VHB tape to attach the emblem. However, when I was reinstalling the grill assembly the emblem fell off. Despite VHB being amazing stuff there is very little actual surface area for it to stick to on the grill due to is being thin wire that is all slightly rotated so you're sticking mostly to it's thin side. My solution was to use VHB between the emblem and the grill then to also use VHB on the backside of the grill with the sticky side pushed through the openings in the grill to make contact with the first layer of VHB. In this way I'm sandwiching the grill between two layers of VHB.

Did mine on Monday with a bit of the ole Cardboard Aided Design. Still need the TOYOTA badge though :\.
On another note I drove from Yuma to San Diego and lets just say it was a "Bug Holocaust" on the grill...

Is the Satoshi grill Mod solid?
So I got my grill in and I was very excited to do this mod.... But the material just seems so much cheaper and flimsly compared to the thickness of the OEM grill... And the fact that it is held on by zip ties just seems.. Ummm... Maybe a little...eh ghetto? :hiding:
I know I know...I don't think my stock grill would hold up to hitting a dear... But the thin mesh grill held on by zip ties makes me think anyone in a parking lot could push it in for fun or maybe at high speeds a bug could bow It in...
((((I just know this is a No-going-back-mod and I'm scared and need some tender hand holding on this one)))

You're comparing thick plastic to thin aluminum. Are you using the XXL mesh? What I use is hard to bend, but will bend. But a bug or someone just pushing on it will not bend it. Maybe if someone threw a baseball at it going 93mph.

:bigok: I did it mainly to get the nerve to cut the stock grill. So its a temporary job... I'll fix it and make it look purdy when I get back, and trust me it will be perfection

Today I ventured into to MOD territory...
Satoshi Grille, top and bottom...Medium level, take your time. However, I did a little different. Cut the bottom off the original grille and fabbed a little. I will post pictures, but you can not see the original grille at all. No offense, but did not like seeing any of the grilles that have any of the original grille underneath. Waiting for glue to dry...will have pictures Wednesday or Thursday, allowing the glue to cure for 24-36 hours.
Also completed...
Fog light, anytime mod...easy if you have an idea of wiring and ANTMANs write up makes it simple
Husky Mud Guards with auto running boards mod...easy remove the bolts and slide it back 1 inch

Is there room behind the modded grille for aftermarket driving or fog lights (Hella, KC, PIAA, etc.)? I am about to purchase a 4runner (I curently own an FJC), so I cannot look for myself... I believe I have seen lights behind a stock grille or two in another thread, but they may have been on 4th gens.

Yes. I've seen both large halogens installed there as well as LED setups. Additionally, there is room behind the lower grill for an installation.
