I am looking for the chrome wing for the upper grill.

I'll try and help you out here, especially cause you picked my truck to replicate! :reddance:

OK it looks like you have just about everything spot on. Make sure you order the powder coated grill (believe it was 12 x 48). It will have to be cut to fit the opening. Read through this entire thread and you will no doubt understand how to do it. TOYOTA emblem looks like the right part number as well. You will need the 3M double sided tape as you stated (for the emblem). I also stuck a cotter pins through the back nubs of the emblem as well (just as a backup - yes I'm anal). Make sure you have some very small black zip ties as well (used along the bottom of the grill to secure it to the plastic). You will also definitely want a can of high temperature matte black spray paint. You will use this to spray the radiator as well as the horns (mine were red from being aftermarket), condensor lines, ect. Anything that can be seen through the black grill should also become black.

I have three words of advice. TAKE YOUR TIME. That not only goes for cutting out the stock grill, cutting the new mesh grill, but also during painting. Make sure you properly cover anything you do not want sprayed and truly spend the time in the preparation in all steps. An extra hour of prep will save you years of looking at an oops! I truly couldn't be happier with the outcome of mine. Shoot me any questions you have while doing it and I will do my best to help answer them. :thumb3:
 
Thanks for the tips! Regarding the grill, the link I posted says it's specifically for the 5th gen 4R and not the universal 12x48...has anyone used that grill? It looks really close to the stock pattern and size and may not require cutting! Also for your emblem, have you blacked out the grey backing or is that just the lighting?

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the grill from the back by chance hey? Curious how you've secured it on...or is it painfully obvious :D

Or..if you want to put one together for me I'll gladly pay for a replica of yours!

The Diamond XXL is the pattern you need and not the other one.

I'm putting together Satoshi's, if thirdtoy doesn't do one for you. :)

The emblem is stock with no modifications and I couldn't like it more! I don't have any pictures but will take a few tomorrow and post them up for you. :boink:

Hey Matthew - Andrew (adio3x) is the way to go. I actually spoke to him prior to deciding to do it myself. It had NOTHING to do with his price (as between you and I, his price is too low :frisky: ), but rather a project I wanted to take on myself. Like I said, I could show you my truck first hand, or even help you with it some weekend, if you are in the New England area. But otherwise I would have Andrew do it for you if you are starpped for time or nervous to take on the project. He has done them for many other members who have all had nothing but good things to say! :bravo:

Anyway I'll get you pictures tomorrow, and let me know what else I can help you with! :banana:
 
sounds good thanks for the information guys. Andrew I'll message you once I am off the highway here but consider 1 in the queue. also I will need a new grill so add that on please and thank you.

Can anyone compare the quality between the Grillcraft grill and the Customcargrills grill? Is it worth the extra price? Will the Grillcraft last longer?

Finally did the change to the grill. Big question though.... Has anyone painted the TOYOTA emblem a different color? I have it and am waiting to put it on. I figure white will be fine, but contemplating changing the color to be different.

I believe Ducmonsta has a red one... If I got the person wrong; at least someone has a red one because I've seen it on here.
