my only qustion on this would be do you have any other fasteners on there other then the double sided tape?
did you use the screw holes on the emblems?
if not id probably attach it with those and some washers cause the tape is only holding on by whereever there is mesh on that grill, but with all those holes in the mesh its not much.
just some 2 cents to help you keep your emblem secured on there.

This pic (also on 1st page) shows the drill holes with a pin clip attaching it to the grill. The pin is mostly there as a safety device so that I don't lose it if the 3M tape fails.

You don't want to lose the decal! It is a real toyota part, steel not plastic and cost $37 before shipping.

Unfortunately for you I can't do this mod for anyone else. I work 50 hrs a week and am just too busy. It was very time consuming BUT NOT VERY DIFFICULT.

You can do it, these type of mods are much easier than say a suspension or other car work.

Can't quite tell, is that a gutter guard you made the grill out of?

yes it is a gutter grill / guard. There are $3 at home depot. The only difficulty with the gutter guard approach is that it will probably be bent when you buy it. I tried to straighten mine out as best I could. I ended up settling on this method: use the zip ties on all edges to pull it tight.

I have had a bit of bad luck with my vehicle in the last two weeks.

Someone shot my rear left quarter-panel with a bb or pellet gun. The tint is still holding it together. I just taped over the whole window inside and out to give it enough strength to last two weeks but I will have to replace it soon. I have been quoted at $330 - $420 fully installed with a new non-tinted window. The first place also quoted me $90 labor to put in a window I bring them, so I am going to junkyard to get a quarter panel window $125. I like this price better $90 + $125 = $215 total. Hopefully will have it in next week.

Also, my alpine deck receiver completely quite working. I am hoping it is just a bad ground; I will look into that this Sunday.

Yes I agree. There is about 2" of play for me to space them out and still not touch. I should drill the holes tomorrow.
