Satoshi Mod Suggestions

FJ 40/45 Emblem came in the mail today. New grille is at our car-lot. I was wanting to ask everyone, who's accomplished this mod, what write-up they used or which one worked the best for them?

Also would like to see some pictures of the different Satoshi's, completed or even in the process, etc. Thanks in advance. I'm hoping to get this finished this week, along with ToyTec front adjust lift, and my new Kumho's are also in. Will include a build thread when finished of course. ;-)

01-02 stock grille if you're not putting lights behind the Satoshi. I suppose the airflow is better without anything behind it?

steezemcqueen: Looks really good. I install gutter, windows, doors. So I'm going to use the powder-coated black stainless steal guard as grill part, and will bolt on the TOYOTA emblem I ordered is what I'm thinking. Did You use the door edging for around the metal-lath you bought?

And I've decided to paint the grill the same color as my 4-Runner. I like the "carry on" look from below the headlights up around the bottom of the hood. Also, my bumper is black, and the mesh-guard will be as well, don't want too much black up there in the front without it contrasting together.

Everyone seems to do theirs a little differently, and adds their own little twist to the mod.

Here's what I did on my stock 2002 sport grille, although not technically a "Satoshi" mod. I just cut out all the gray ribs in the open sections and replaced with a piece of perforated metal. Looks a lot cleaner in my opinion, and the perforated metal matches what is inside the hood scoop "opening".

That does look real good Bandit, but I already have the '97 grill waiting for the emblem and mesh. Should have asked this a week ago!

I really like the lights behind the mesh though. I'll look around to see how they mounted those.

Gotcha. I had enough trouble getting a free float mount set up. I didn't see much space to fit some 700's behind there.
