Okay guys, I bought my 4Runner TRD OR Premium on November 6th (I believe), and since then I've done quite a bit of stuff to the rig. I'm coming from a Wrangler Rubicon X with 37s and a bunch of other jazz, but sold it due to the lack of practicality. The 4Runner really hit the sweet spot with it's body on frame build, lack of "bro" status (Wrangler :faint
, and excellent resale value.
Let me start by saying that I absolutely love this 4Runner. I figured I would wait and see exactly how much before I put thousands of dollars into it, and well...you can see how quickly that changed.

Also, yes, I've read through the 27 threads about clunks in the front suspension of the 5th gen, but it appears people just settle with the clunk. In a set-up that I've now spent $45,000 dollars on, I can't quite let this fly.
The 4Runner had ~1,100 miles on it when the lift was installed and I've had this damn clunking sound in the front end at low speeds ever since. I am way to obsessive about sounds and squeaks and this is absolutely, positively driving me insane. :ybrick:
The sounds can be heard at low speed driving through a parking lot or even at high speeds if I hit a hard enough bump in the road. It sounds like I have something seriously loose down there, but I have checked everything I can think of. It's so loud inside that it's almost embarrassing to drive through a parking lot with people around. It sounds like it's coming from the front right wheel, but it's somewhat hard to tell.
Things I've checked
If I can't figure this out, I am at the point of walking into a dealership, handing the tech a couple hundred dollars and saying find the son of b***h. :gun5:

Things I've checked
- Upper and lower bolts on the coilover
- sway bar end links top and bottom
- sway bar relocation bracket saddles (tightened to spec) and lubed
- checked clearanace in and around the sway bar
- verified clearance between UCA and coils
