What load rating?

Read on another thread:

BUT their website lists the Revos LT as a 10 ply which would make it an E rated tire.

P=4 ply

C=6 ply

D=8

E=10 ply.....

That's too heavy for the 4Runner. E Rated tires are for 3/4 ton and 1 ton diesels.

I would go C or D at most but not E.


Has anyone heard whether the LT rated revos for the 4runner will include a C rated tire like Koz has on his Taco?

This is a little off topic but the pictures reminded me of something.

Why is it that when tires are replaced and balancing is done, that the weights are put on the outside of the rim? Why can't they be done on the inside or in a less visible area like when it's done from the factory?

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm wondering why the heck anyone would put them on the outside, and/or why would one have to ask to have them put on the inside?

This is something I've always wondered, and was a frustration in the past when I forgot to bring it up while getting new tires.

When I balanced tires (15 years ago) the balancing machine not only told you where a weight was needed but it also told you which side of the tire/wheel to put it (inside/outide).
