They make throttle body spacers too, and they do absolutely nothing on a direct injected motor. (which our 3.4L is)

Our motors do not have direct injection, they have sequential MPFI. Direct injection is relatively new for mass production vehicles and requires very high pressure fuel pump and injectors to meet the demands of direct injection fuel delivery. If our motors had direct injection they would be making a lot more power than the stock horsepower.

Sorry, but this is absolutely not true. Rationally it makes sense, but scientifically it is not true. The hot water will freeze faster than the cold water.
It does not take energy to lose heat. You are losing energy to a colder, less energetic state (let's assume you put your boiling water and room temperature water outside in Canada in the winter).

Anyway, it's called the Mpemba effect and it is, as of now, unexplained.

I don't want to jumble this thread up, but I think this is interesting and thought I'd share.

We'll stick with the non Mpemba effect, which occurs most of the time. I was referring to the energy necessary to remove the heat from the freezer with the ice trays. Of course if you stuck it outside in zub zero temperatures it wouldnt cost anything.

Correct. It does not exactly fit the laws of thermodynamics and it is unexplained.

Ill add my 2 cents to the list:

deck plate, airaid intake, trueflow filter, 72 degrees outside got a 75.2 degrees on the intake temp gauge.

seems pretty good to me. thats idle on the street outside. truck ran for about 10 minutes.

Here's some real data on the deck plate install. After two days of close monitoring and driving highway and city, an open airbox yields me intake temperatures that average 5 degrees lower than with it closed. City/highway driving being the highest difference, idle averaging about 4 degrees cooler.
