Scared to buy CBI Rear Bumper

Best exchange of information I've read on the Interweb in many many moons! this'll definitely sway my purchasing in the future!

my hybrid rear bolted up perfectly. i hadn't read anything about the failures in the swing out before i ordered it. complete coincidence that i wanted the swing arm only so i could fab the rest of the tire carrier myself.. i guess i lucked out completely by accident.
 
I ordered the CBI Hybrid front for my 2002. First issue I noticed was the very brief installation guide online. It isn't the same bumper. Next was the fact that no matter how many different approach angles I tried there was no way this thing was going to come even remotely close to ANY of the factory mounting points which it clearly states it will in its description for my year model. It is way off. The product is not what it was advertised to be. That is a problem.

Sent the wrong item?
 
Just want to throw this in since my inclination to all things mechanical
is less than stellar.
While there is still a possibility I've received the wrong item
there is also a very real possibility I'm missing something.

I don't want to take a chance on harming the reputation of
someone trying to make an honest living even if they did make
a mistake. Hell, I even made a mistake once. True.

Post a picture of the mounts? Should be pretty easy to tell from there. I do remember mine being interesting to finagle on there

I agree. Post a picture of the mounts. They are pretty obvious, IMHO. I remember mine going on pretty easily. It was definitely made to fit snug, but it wasn't hard.

I just read this part. Sorry. Yupp. I had to force the bolts in on my front bumper. It is without a doubt the worst quality product (fit wise, function it's great) i've ever seen. I was very disappointed. I ended up widening the holes on the bumper to match factory mounting points. There's countless reports of this happening on their front bumpers.
