SCION CD Player Help

I bought a 2012 Scion CD Player with Bluetooth calling, iPod and XM ready.
I pulled my head unit out (2003 T4R non JBL) and I was perplexed by what I found.

The Scion head unit plugs in and works fine, but it does not hook up to my antenna, steering wheel controls, and I am not sure what I need to use my iPhone.

Can someone who knows allot more about this tell me what I am missing here.

In the pic I have marked what I do and do not know. I find antenna adapters for everything but this unit, and I cannot find an adapter to make my steering wheel controls plug in. The plug is there but I do not know if there is an adapter.

Toy2G,

Not sure what is up with antenna connection to that HU. I have a new Scion HU as well with nav and it has the standard single round socket for the antenna.

I was also able to plug in just the OEM plugs (they don't appear to be any different than yours) from my 2008 and everything worked fine including the steering wheel controls. The steering wheel control wires are in the two OEM plugs in my 2008.

One of the extra white sockets is for pre-amp outputs, the grey socket looks the same as the one for the Blutooth antenna on my HU.

Antenna: Try finding the parts diagram for the vehicle that this HU was intended for and then look up replacement antenna to see what the connector looks like. It may be one of those connectors that are incorporated into the main wiring harness. If not, you can get a replacement antenna wire and you could then fabricate your own adapter.

As a last resort, you could take the unit apart: many of the inputs from the plugs are actually identified on the circuit boards so you could figure out which is antenna input.

I think the white socket on far L side is your antenna input; The smaller of two unidentified white sockets side by side, appears to be XM input.

that is very helpful...I think you are correct about the antenna socket. I wonder if the small grey socket is the aux input for ipod or USB. I have no interest in XM so if i can determine how to make the steering wheel controls work and get my iphone to plug in, i will run this HU.

thanks for the input
