Well...a little late but lately I've invested a fair amount in her. Bought new in 2002 she sits here.

Finally an update. I have the Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/16, on today
with the Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers.
Totally changed the look of the truck. Tires, spacers and removing the running
boards along with the lift aesthetically transformed it. The CBI hybrid front bumper arrived today. Still in the box. I'll get pics before and after I install it.

Today each and every one of you will know exactly why I refer to it as a "half ass" build thread.
This will NEVER be nominated a 'sticky' for it's wealth of information.
Though it might be locked for it's profanity and uselessness.

So the freshly powdercoated new CBI bumper is here but if I could
pick the enormously huge, heavy sonofa***** up I would lift it over
my stupid head and throw it through the plate glass living room window.

Getting these god***n bolts off to remove the factory bumper is killing me.
I am so f***ing pissed now I can't even remember what size socket seemed
to ALMOST fit. I still haven't found an exact fit. And these liquid wrench
tolerant f***ing bolts haven't moved unless you count the stripping
that I've caused.

The village idiot made some progress!!
I love the CBI hybrid. I Haven't figured out how to connect it's LED
turn signals but that's why it's a "Half **s" build thread, right?
Here she is today.

Looks great! Haha love the "half as*" concept because that's how I do just about everything  keep up the good work!

Wanna know what the best investment for my truck was?

A cordless impact wrench. A Milwaukee to be exact :thumb:

Truck is looking good btw. Nice bumper!

I agree on the cordless impact. I have a Craftsman C3 19.2v impact and it has not failed me yet. Less than $100 at Sears last time I looked.

scrapper, Great looking 4Runner! I love the tires and front bumper. Keep up the awesome work/updates.

you should paint the flares shiny black.

I agree. I tried to plasti dip but it plasti-RIPPED the finish off the flares when I tried to remove the taped off area. Total cluster**cking fail.
Paint will come next for those conspicuous, silver flares.

id do a nice gloss black, the plastidip looks ok but the shiny black looks factory.

I concur.

Though it's nothing significant I have added/changed a thing or two.
The GT Covers seats are on.
Very pleased with them. Matches up with my interior very well.

I didn't have the patience to square away the LED signals that came
with my CBI bumper. They certainly were better looking but too much
drama for now. Though I did purchase the flasher mentioned here in the 3rd gen forums somewhere to do at a later date.
For now I've rigged my original turn signals - housing and all -
directly behind the hole where a more mechanically inclined individual would have mounted the LEDs.
You can't see the OEM grey plastic housing from any angle
and it shines through that hole remarkably well. Function is uncompromised.
Buying a winch this week to finish up the bumper.

I bought a generic set of off road mud flaps at an atv/truck parts place
nearby. They are not top of line OEM looking but with spidertrax and these
big arse tires I a was beating the s**t out of me and anyone else unlucky
enough to be near me when I hit the paved roads after being on gravel which begins getting un-stuck from my tires at 40-70 miles per hour.
