I've been slacking on the updates, especially since I've had some changes recently. One of the big ones is I sold my BFG's and Racelines. I loved the combo, but I had too many issues with vibrations. The tires took a ton of weight to balance and it was never right. I also found some Tundra 17's with stock tires for super cheap so I decided to pick them up.
I've got some nice rake going on...
I really enjoyed the extra power and gas mileage with the 31's, but they weren't going to cut it. So I was searching around for some new 33's. I decided that new 33's weren't in the budget right now and I needed something for when I go wheeling. I found some Nitto Terra Grapplers locally and after much debate I picked them up. They have between 60-80% and I got them for $250. Works for me and when I can afford some new tires I can get my money back on these. My vibrations are still there, but definitely a lot less than before. LBJ's and Tie Rods should fix that problem.
One thing I was worried about is the fitment of the 33's and Tundra rims without spacers. I knew the kid has the same set up, but was still nervous. ended up being enough room, but they do rub at full droop. Spacers or maybe UCA's will be ordered before my next big wheeling trip.
Then yesterday I had some extra time and plasti-dipped the rims. Decided to go this route to save some time right now and it's easy. I'll do a more permanent solution at some other time.
I'll get a pic of the whole truck later.
While doing the wheels I noticed my passenger side rear axle seal was leaking. Looks like I will have some maintenance to take care of. Ugh lame, but I knew it was going to happen sometime or another.
Next up I picked up a set of Toytec Superflex coils. I've liked my Downey coils, but I'm sitting at around 24.5" and they are a bit stiff for having no weight in the back. For the price I couldn't pass them up. If anyone is interested in the Downey coils PM me.
Lastly, I will be selling my Demello tube bumper. I really like it, but it needs some work before I could get it on. I have a buyer, but will post it up if he backs out. The reason I'm selling it though is because I'm picking up a rear 4.88 e-locker diff from 4-Ripcord. After using the 31's recently I've been really thinking about regearing or s/c. S/C would be more fun, but I can't afford one or all the accessories. The diff will be covered with the sale of the bumper, so it's a wash for the back. Also I'm looking for a front 4.88 diff that is already assembled. Rather keep my stock diffs complete so I can sell them and recoup some of the cash. I'm hoping I can get both diffs (when/if I get a front 4.88) installed by August.
