scuffs on dash on '04

Someone put their feet/shoes on the vertical face of the dash above the glove compartment and put scuffs/scratches in the black padded vinyl. Isd there any way that I can remove/cover them up?

I had some scuff on my dash and they had started to go away. I used some no-gloss Armor-All and it seemed to help.

I have the EXACT same problem. The dash on the 4Runner is very susseptable to scuffs. I was putting up the sunshade and it rubbed the dash the wrong way. Now I've got scuffs along the front edge of the dash. Any ideas on how to fix this would be great. I don't really want to start applying Armor-all.

I used some low gloss armor all the last time I detailed the car and that appeared to hide/remove the scuffs I had.

The Armor All that i used is not the regular greasy looking stuff it is a non-gloss. It doesn't look wet at all, but it did richen the color.

I think somebody posted about a problem with Windex getting on their dash and damaging it - they ended up using the official Toyota stuff for the dash and it did work quite well I think. Might be worth a try if the Armor-all does not work.

Tell your girlfriend/wife to stop puting her feet up on the dash But, seriously, try fine plastic polish. Usualy works well, just be carefull.

My wife has the exact same habit btw - it looks really uncomfortable as well - I do try warning her that the airbag is in that area and its not really a good idea but...

Zainos Z-10

Thought I'd let everyone know that I bought Zainos Bros. Z-10 leather in a bottle and treated the entire dash. The scuff marks came out beautifully! The dash is slightly darker but it looks even better than before. Also, it smells great and it's not shiny at all.

Armour All isn't really the best thing to use on your dash. It has a tendency to dry it out and lead to cracking. One of the best treatments is Aerospace 303. Can be found on-line or most often at boat and marine stores.

Try the Aerospace 303 protectant. It usually will work on things like this.

They have it availible in different sizes too.

My sunshade also scratched mine. Keep the dash clean. Use 303 or Vinelyx.

303 rocks!! If you are having trouble with other products not looking consistent or blotchy on the dash, make sure you are applying the protectant while the dash is cool and out of the sun, and try using a small sponge for an applicator. I use 303 and a small sponge applicator with a plastic handle. Got it at pep boys for like a dollar or so. Also I use a microfiber mitt to dust off the dash between 303 applications.
I have used 303 for years on all my Toyota dashes and door panels and it has always looked great. I would like to try the Zaino's protectant some time just to see what its like.
