Seat bottom question

Anyone here tried moving a passenger seat cushion to the drivers seat. The passenger side sees so little wear they are like new. It would be nice to move one over and see if it fits. TIA!

I have a '99 SR5, and switching the seats was not a problem at all. Not sure with Limited, since they seem to have more controls. It's been awhile for me, but the only issue I recall was some sort of electrical connector which did not match up between driver seat and passenger; could have been either heater, or maybe air bag sensor. Not sure. Whatever it was, it wasn't an issue.

But you're right: the passenger seat was like new, and switching made a massive difference in comfort over the less-than-firm original drivers seat. Go for it.

I've done it with a Limited interior, I have some pics in my maintenance thread. The seat back foams are identical, Toyota made them symmetrical for use on either side. The seat bottoms will fit, you just have to unplug the airbag sensor and tuck it up underneath of the drivers side seat frame. I used a few zip ties when I did my seat. ( this is assuming that you're using a donor seat from a scrapped vehicle.)

I swapped them on my 2000 base model. Very easy, and the fact the passenger seat belt warning light no longer works does not bother me.

Need Bottom Seat

Anyone know where I can get an original “rear driver side bottom seat”? Bleach sat on it for about a week and ate through the leather and foam.

Would prefer not to pay dealership prices since they have already gouged me in the past

I’m pretty sure seat foams and covers are discontinued parts now. You can still find them new sometimes if you hunt. New old stock.

Your best best is Craig’s list or pick n pull. I have sold several sets now but I don’t have any right now. You can find some really nice ones around if you spend some time. A lot of these trucks only see wear and tear on the drivers seat.

This also goes for seatbelts, door seals.

I sold octane junky his seat foam.

Dealership is the only place you'll find the foam

Cover I got from this guy on Ebay a few years ago.

Really nice leather. Looks like there's a few others on Ebay now and a vinyl substitute too. Oh and I used Hog Rings like the factory did not stupid zipties :behindsofa:

I swapped front seat bottoms in my '97 sr5 several years ago. I don't recall any passengers seat occupancy sensor.
The drivers was haggar'd so for a few years the passengers seat bottom was a cloth taco seat bottom. I finally spent the $ on a new ebay cover, so the passengers side now has the new ebay cover and the drivers is still the original passengers.
