Well guess what everyone, I just bought a brand new 05' T4R SE. Ive only had it for like less than 2 month with 1600 miles on it now and my frickin drivers bottom seat starts to shift forward and back everytime I either come to a stop or go. This is getting me very frustrated because paying a little over $30 grand for a new car and within less than half a year Im having problems already. Ive talked to the servie department and all they can say is that, theyve only could duplicate it on one other T4R. They did say however that theyll talk to the rep. to see what they can do and call me back but its been like a little over a week and NO calls back. What should I do? and also everytime I drive a little hard I can smell the Sulfer from my exhaust, too. Anyone else with an 2005 having problems.

Welcome to the family.
Your seat should not be moving while you drive. Contact the service manager and then Toyota directly.
Where you live may be affecting the type of gas you can buy. Some have a higher sulfur content. I have never smelled any sulphur on mine and we have about the same amount of miles.

I have a customer that has the same problem with there seat. and in compared it to a new 4runner and found the same problem. so I opened a case with toyota. but for now there is nothing i could do for her. this may or may not be the same problem. but tell me what your locate tech find and ill inform you if i find anything. good luck

I assume you've done a search and found that this is not a new problem. It's been happening since 2003 and Toyota has not addressed it. (It reassures your confidence in Toyota quality, doesn't?

There was one owner a while backwith this problem that eventually had Toyota buy back his 4Runner.
Some owners have had luck with a dealer fix, while others have not. Don't assume the dealer will be able to fix your problem.
