Seat problems

I'm currently replacing the seats in my 89, and I'm having a bear of time working it out. I pulled some leather seats out of a Explorer, and it seemed like they would work fine, but it's not really working out all that great. On the passenger side, the seat doesn't tip forward much more than a 90º, so I need it to slide farther than normal. I was going to just move the stops inside the track, but I don't think that idea will give me enough room to slide. Thoughts? I've been working on this problem for a couple weeks now and it's starting to become tiresome ha. I've considered new seats, but I would rather not go that route as I already pulled these ones out. Maybe new rails?

I remember correctly when you said you got those in the suggestion was that they would not work well because they don't tip for rear passenger entry. Personally I think you should go the BMW route which is proven time and time again to be a better seat option.

If you're dead set on using those seats then you need a secondary slider underneath your current track

These can be purchased from Summit just a simple slider has a latch on one unit that allows the seat to slide forward enough to rear entry. It's all up to you how you get it mounted

I believe it was 2001-2004 not sure but in sure someone who had done it will chime in

early to mid 90's Acura and Honda seats are a nice alternative

I used SR5 seats out of a 2000 4runner in my 1985.

The rear mounting brackets will line up and bolt right in but the front ones will need to be cut off. I cut the old front brackets off and welded them to the track where they needed to be. Not a hard swap, just a few hours.

And I did 1st gen MR2 seats in mine. The fronts lined up perfectly, but the rears needed a little bracket fabbing. Nothing hard though, and they've been solid for close to 10 years now.

These are the 1994'ish Prelude seats I got for $25-30 from pick in pull a few years ago. The car only had 60K in it. I ran them in my 81 Trekker for 4 years. Glad I saved them, i think they will go into my 94.
Driver's seat had a ton of adjustments and very nice for long drives

Thanks for the help everyone, I found some that I think will work today at the yard. Came out of a Dodge Dakota, but these ones are built for having the passenger climb in behind them. Hopefully putting them in Friday.
