Seat repair made worse by dealer... Options?

OK, got my "new" 2001 Limited from Carmax. It had a couple of small slits on the side of the driver's seat (in the vinyl portion) that they said they would have repaired under my 30 day warranty. No problem, scheduled the appointment, brought her in and left it for the day. Trusting soul that I am, I picked it up and glanced down and it looked OK. As I was driving home, I noticed everything (seats, dash, shifter, etc.) had a "gritty" feel to it. Overspray everywhere! Got home, looked at the repair and it was all flaking off. They had apparently sanded the area and also managed to sand through the stitching that holds the vinyl side to the leather top! Got overspray on my Maglite that I had just installed on the seat frame as well.

Well, I called the service manager and he was very understanding and accomodating and promised to take it to an upholsterer and have it done right. I dropped it off Monday night, explaining that I would like to see the seat repaired correctly and have it re-stitched. Went to pick it up last night and all they had done was spread more "goo" (at least it's sticking this time), pulled some of the damaged thread out and glued(?) the vinyl and leather together. There is a gap in the seam that you can see the seat foam through now!

I showed the service manager and he agreed that it wasn't right, and is going to talk to his manager to see what they can do. I explained that knowing what I know now, I'd have been happier leaving it un-repaired seeing as how they've managed to do more damage trying to "repair" things.

What I'm thinking is that they need to either replace the side piece of vinyl and re-stitch what was damaged, OR just replace the entire seat bottom. I have read here that the seat bottom leather is available from Toyota. Does anyone have the part number/cost? I'd like to be "armed and ready" when they call me today.

Well.... Just talked to the upholsterer that will be repairing my seat. He is going to replace the damaged material, including sewing new vinyl/leather into place. He said that whatever stitched areas were damaged will be replaced because getting the stitching back into the original holes is almost impossible. Sounds like he knows what he's doing. Hopefully by this time next week she'll be good as new!
