Seat Replacement Follow-up

So I posted a few weeks ago about my new 4runner and the seat- back and other pain nightmare I thought would not be an issue by making sure to get a Limited with the power seats. Well the stock seat was basically unusable for me which is bizarre because I can sit just fine in almost any BMW seat, but whatever. So I replaced the stock seat with this Corbeau and here it is:







The frame is a direct bolt-in so this was a simple swap. So, the GOOD: Posture is awesome, 100% better for me than the stock seat, support, fitment, perfect.

The BAD: This seat (I chose) is waaaay to aggressive. The bottom bolsters are nut-crushers because your legs just get mashed together so it would be a rough long-drive scenario. The headrest does not pull forward, and the back adjustment is missing that one-click to perfect adjustment so its like you are too laid back or too straight up, not much, but enough...

I am trying to drive the crap out of my company car before I turn it in so I do not have a lit of miles on the seat, but I ordered a second one (returned the passenger side one one of the one in the pics because its too aggressive) in the Moab style that is less aggressive, more for Jeeps. I will install that soon and let everyone know. In the end, the seat looks awesome, broke the bank, and is an improvement, but probably too racer for a relaxing drive in the country. For off-roading though this seat would probably be amazing becauase it really holds you in place!

I was contemplating that seat a little over a year ago... just never pulled the trigger cuz I couldn't justify the $$$ lol It looks really nice though, it's nice to read a review of one mounted in a 3rd gen, thanks!

I was wondering about the nut-crusher factor too. Did you order the regular size seat or the wide one?

Yeah, I hear ya on the $$, put a serious ding in the build budget, but the stock seat was really that bad. I went for the stock size. Im not a big guy, about 5' 9" 165lbs and its a snug seat. Although installing the passenger one would have prevented any fat chicks from sitting there, it would also rule out any of my friends and family too...Half the techs in my shop could barely fit in it...There were a few other options too, but I figured I'd start with the Moab. If thats perfect then Im mounting this one as a game/office chair....

So how'd your seats come out? I really hate mine & they kill my back.
