seatbelt alert

I have a 2005 4Runner which I bought in July for my teenaged son. No alarm sounds when the driver doesn't buckle the seatbelt. Did the '05 lack a seatbelt warning alarm or has mine malfunctioned/been disconnected? If turned off, any idea how to reactivate it?

I disconnected mine by unplugging underneath driver seat , if not that its been turned off @ dealership some folks turn it off . It needs a diag. tool to turn back on .
