Seatbelt chime

I know this issue has been covered, but nothing showed up on my search.

When my seatbelt or passager's seatbelt is not on there is an annoying noise that occurs. I dont mind the light flashing, but the noise gets irritating.

Any help on turning it off would be helpful.

I do 100% of the time just when you immediately pull out of your garage and it goes off non-stop after 10 seconds of you even being in the car then it gets a little annoying.

I followed the instructions on my '08, works great except that the chime still beeps a few times if it's started w/o the belt being fastened. After that no beep.

I bought my 4th gen 2nd hand and therefore don't know what it is suppose to or not suppose to do.

My truck doesn't have that chime at all. Nor does it have ant noise when I leave the headlights on, key out, and door open.

I tried the www.ehow seatbelt chime disable method and couldn't get the b-on or b-off to appear.

I'm thinking the wire was cut or fuse was pulled. Anyone have any idea where the fuse or wire is?

I must be re****ed or something. Could someone help?

interesting midnight runner. I have the same thing. The door chimes when i have my keys in, door open, etc. However, no seat belt chime, just the flashing red light.

I think it's a different buzzer, got turned off or doesn't exist? Even my 3rd gen would make noise if I left the lights on, door open and no keys.

Did you buy your truck pre-owned?

Someone may have clipped the wire to the chime. I did mine because I hate key in ignition chime. I don't think the 4th gen has a light chime as the lights auto-off 30seconds (IIRC) from the last action. By last action I mean door closed, lock button on FOB pushed once etc.

The key chime is worthless IMHO because you can't lock the doors with the key in the ignition. I locked my keys in more than once because I'd stop, open the door, sit there talking on the phone, throw the keys on the passenger seat to stop the chime get out of the car and lock the door with the door button:bash:

Now I just leave the keys in the ignition until I get out of the vehicle. I used J.A.'s superb write-up found here: http://www.top4runners.com/ja/2007/keyreminder.html . Maybe some did the same thing to yours.

As far as the seatbelt chime is concerned I don't know what to tell you.

I love the fact that my 05 4runner does not have the chime.

My 07 Camry has the annoying chime. It goes away after a minute or so. I can have the dealer remove it, but I'd rather keep whatever they would charge me.
