Will 4th generation seats fit in a 3rd generation 4runner? Found a great deal on a pair of '04 front seats. Only $200 and they look like they are in really good condition.

Any help?

to answer my own question:

Not with out a lot of modification.

I went and checked out the 04 seats and the brackets were a little wider than the 3rd generation brackets. Im sure they would have worked if i was willing to drill new holes into the floor.

Instead I bought two cloth seats out of a 98 from a junk yard near by for $100.

I kept the back leather seats. They are still in near perfect condition.

Also recently added some '02 headlights:

cloth out the front, leather out the back. looks alot better. i was just gonna suggest seat covers but the cloth seat route was probably the best.

thanks man. I was going to go with some seat covers, but these cloth ones were just such a good deal. and they dont have any stains or anything wrong with them.

they definitely look better. Maybe a little brighter... cant really tell though. One of the bulbs on the old lights was brighter than the other so i think they seem brighter. I like them though

That is good to know that they don't fit. I didn't think a 4th generation model would fit in a 3rd generation model. I think the cloth sets look pretty good. They seem to be in good shape too.

They looked really bad at the junk yard and then i realized that they had seat covers on them. So i took a look under the seat covers and they were in great condition. I dont think the junk yard guy realized they had seat covers cause i think he would have charged me a bit more if he knew they were in such good shape.

What year is your 4runner? I was always thinking about putting some '01 or '02 headlights in my '96 but wasn't positive they would fit perfectly.

mine is a 96 too. They went right in no problems. Lined up perfectly
