Looking to meet up with some folks to go wheeling with. Nothing too extreme as I'm pretty green!

I'd be down! I'm new here so I don't know any trails but I'm sure we could get some other Seattle/WA people together.
 
Putting some new Grabbers on tomorrow, so after the break in period ide be down. Any idea of date and where to go? Weekends as well for me.
 
Works for me. Or May 3rd? Hopefully that will give people enough notice. I'd also love to bring the camping gear out as well. And those who want to keep it a day trip, can. But I can do that any weekend. So... the ball is back in the other guys' court.
 
I'd definitely be in for a little off roading.
I'm on the east side. I can plan to be free on May 3rd, but this weekend works for me too.
 
I could (possibly) get off my ass and have my truck taken apart by May 3rd for maintenance. If it's apart, can I drive to meet with everyone and get a ride with someone on the trail? ...assuming we are getting out onto a trail?
 
Depending on the distance from home, and the ruggedness of the trail we are planning, I will probably be opting out for this one. I have driven my new-to-me 4Runner for 1,000 of the 263,000 miles on her. I suspect it needs LBJs, timing belt/WP, and some other little work (e-brake cable!). To top it off, my CEL came on as I drove home last night. Not sure what that is about, but I feel like I need to tear into this truck and get to know it better before I take it out on a trail.
I have other cars, so if someone wants to meet with me and take me as a passenger, that might be cool. I am capable at digging, changing flats, jacking, towing, and setting up a simple winch-recovery setup :) HMU with a PM.
 
Hey 4R4TW, I have been up to Evens Creek years ago in my buddy's Jeep. I have actually seen very little of the trails, since almost everything was closed off. We went down a couple "roads", one was a dirt road and the other just a logging trail into the woods. Maybe we should see if things are open before going? I'll talk to my friend.

Tahuya State Forest is a very popular place if your up for a little bit of a drive. Also has campsites if your making a weekend of it.
 
I missed this...

Tahuya would probably be a better beginners trail than Evans... bit of a trek out there though.

Once I am all armored/winched up (should be within the month) I will be down for some more agressive trails.
 
if you guys are new to wheeling or have mild rigs i would not suggest evans creek. it can be very very unforgiving... tight trails, tough terrain and easy to get in over your head fast.

check out these guys... its a local forum and they have a section for both oregon and washington wheeling, and last min runs that people are always posting up. most of them know what they are doing and have well preped rigs. there is always browns camp down in oregon, out in the tillamook state forest. its got a lot of stuff, everything from mild to wild, and a great place to learn the ins and outs/dos and donts of wheeling/off roading and its a lot more forgiving.
