Mocked up and made a bracket to mount my ARB CKSA12 air compressor. Plumbed the switch wirings through the firewall(PITA). Works perfect! Going to use this dedicated unit to supply air to my rear ARB locker I'll have done in 09/2016. I have a separate portable VAIR system for airing up tires.

09/2016:

Routed my air line. Ended up going down the drivers side following the hard brake lines/frame to the rear diff.

Hit up Stampede Pass a few weeks ago as well. Pinstripes galore even for a silver vehicle.

Hi man just saw your thread. I haven't seen any likes ! But I do like your truck. I think you went all out like a ghetto blaster with all those pics !

Haha did you use dollar bills to light up that fire while shooting in the woods ?

Peace :)

I too like to shoot also, might just post a vid on how to cut trees with a 12 gage !

Thanks! Yeah, slow day at work. I do take pics of almost everything I do with my truck so I just went through my google drive to re-post them here! haha

I didn't make the fire, my cousin did and knowing his ass, I think he did throw some bills to get the fire going. :ohwell:

Loaded up the 4Runner and headed south to do some salmon fishing. Slow day but went 1 for 1 and landed this 20# native king. Let it go continue it's journey...

Now off to install the ARB locker!

Nils @ Bull Built Differentials did my locker install. Highly recommended by ARB USA themselves. Quick turnaround time too. He'll be doing all my re-gearing and front locker in the near future.

Some pics of the install:

BTW, if anybody is curious the 5th gen uses ARB part# RD193 8.2"

The tricky part about the 5th gen rear is that there is barely any clearance to get the copper airline around. You have less then 1/4" of clearance and you have to bend the copper line correctly into shape before you drop the unit back in.

Hit up some trails before work and the system worked flawlessly. I drove miles with the compressor on and never once did it have to re-cycle. It held constant pressure. Love how this system will engage/disengage with a flip of the switch. My buddies with their e-locker tacos/4runners takes a bit moving and wiggling on the trail before they engage.

The locker necessary for me? Absolutely not, 4LO+ATRAC has never let me down but I can definitely see how a rear locker can be useful in certain situations where ATRAC would have some difficulty powering through. The locker will just crawl over the obstacle. Another good thing about the ARB unit is that is replaces the whole stock carrier. It is milled from a solid piece of metal instead of cast oem. It is a stronger design to handle trail abuse.

I'll most likely do a front locker along with 4:56 gearing in 2017. Upgrade to some 305s!

Thank you. Just trying to do upgrades that will enhance the off-road capabilities(when needed) but still keep it civilized as a daily driver.

I do want a steel bumper though!

Bought the Addicted Offroad 2014 prototype steel bumper just now. Will be going to pick up another '14 bumper to cut up. Will keep my factory bumper just in case I want to go back to stock.

Scored a bumper and all the extra trim pieces. Going to get the jigsaw ready and hopefully get a straight cut. Thanks Mistaken!

All clean for this garage shot. Going to miss having that extra filler plate. Will be a total PITA to remove that TRD Pro garnish to transfer it to another bumper.
