The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

I am free to Cancel my lifelock membership of 300$ to donate to the NRA every year. I am free to not fly delta, I am free to not rent a car from Hertz.

The last time the left boycotted a company, we got a new americas favorite fast food restaurant .. Chik fila.

The last time conservatives boycott well we all know what happened to the NFL and how they are doing...

The point is corporations cannot be forced to serve the NRA and Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor apparently doesn’t get that.

In summary..

Delta decides to stop giving a discount to NRA members, something it was never required to do.
The Georgia senate kills a $50m tax break for Delta hours later.
The Lieutenant Govenor openly claims, in writing, that he will block any legislation that benefits Delta, thereby possibly opening the above decision to a legal challenge on the basis of provable, petty discrimination.
The Lieutenant Governor claims this lack-of-discount is an "attack on conservatives".
Delta is the largest employer in the State.

it's not their money, it's public money. this is picking winners and losers. this would only be an example of the free market working if the leutenant governor said he would chose not to fly privately on delta or something like that.

last week when this tax cut for delta was voted on, democrats argued that this was a corporate hand-out and delta was making record profits so they didn't need a tax break. the republican argument was that this was not a corporate hand-out, this was a good idea because it benefited the people of the state.

threatening to remove the tax cut makes it clear that yep it was just a corporate handout, and we don't actually care about the people of the state

Haven't read every post so forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

I’m a Second Amendment supporter but those who wrote it could not have conceived of the weapons available today. Nobody was going to kill 17 people (or 2 for that matter) with the single-shot barrel loaders of that era.

Seems that should figure into the equation but damn if I know how.

On the Delta tax breaks, I live in Georgia and worked there for a couple of years (just for full disclosure, doesn't affect my view). I disagree with the state giving the tax break to begin with and with pulling it based on Delta doing something they don't like (whether or not it involves the NRA). On the flip side, these corporations' reactions seem knee-jerk. I would have given them more credibility if they had come out a couple of months after a bunch of first-graders were slaughtered and said, "Look, we've given this some thought and no longer want to be associated with an organization that supports the availability of assault weapons and takes an uncompromising position regardless of what measures are suggested to help combat gun violence." That's what you do if you're acting on principle as opposed to being a wind sock.

But I understand you guys have a lot of anger and can't get it through your brains that we need to come together instead of constantly being divided. Knowing you folks this example probably won't be good enough, this is why giving an example is a waste of time. Anyway this example is how Mr. Obama weaponized the IRS against conservative groups. He also weaponized the FBI against Trump but I am sure that fact conveniently escapes this group for obvious reasons...
