Actually it is my business, and name calling won't get you anywhere. I'm happy to share the details here publicly if jicko wants but I'm giving him the chance to do what Tepui ownership has asked which is to remove this thread as well as the original one. Of course if that doesn't happen today I'll explain why and Tepui ownership will deal directly with jicko and that won't be good for anyone involved.

For the record Tepui is going out of there way to take care of customers already involved despite how it's been mishandled.

Box rocket - I don't understand, if you're in the business of selling the tents, why would not want visibility of 20+ tents to dudes showing there friends and family?? It's basically good networking and good business sense, group buys WILL bring in more business... Am I missing something?

That picture is one of the ones that will come out if you do a google image on "Roof Top Tent", it doesn't implies anything.

Guys, forget about reasoning with him. He makes money badmouthing other brands of tents and selling the tent he is selling on TacomaWorld and EXPO. I did some research on him, seemingly he is famous for this behavior. I don't think he has an online company, or else I don't think this kind of behavior, bullying, threathening will run him a successful business.

He came over here, contacted me, pretended to be an interested party, hid his association and intention, and then now, ruining it for everyone.

I'm not the one having a problem with this group buy.

I have the EXACT WORDS you have said stating that you HAVE a problem with this exact group buy. So, do not try to mis-inform the group/forum.

This one in particular is very unique and rare and there were very specific requirements and agreements when the "deal was stuck" with jicko and Tepui. He has violated those agreements.

Have you seen the agreements? I still have everything in black and white. This was a "closed group", no "public info" was posted, no dogs/cats or babies had been killed in the process, you won't have ANY info about this except the fact that you hid your identity and association and pretended to be an interested party and snatch "private info" from me, and now to use those "private info" against the members and forums here. Typically, I service only long time members here on T4R.org, my mistake was not noticing that you only had 2 posts, and thought that I was doing you a fav by letting you join our "private purchase".

So just to clarify what my role is in this. I am a sales rep for Tepui.

I apologize, but there is nothing for me to gain in the situation, I'm just the messenger.

If you are truly "just a rep", "a messenger" (and not trying to take profit/commission from forum member's sales), you won't be behaving like this.

A good company with great products's reputation is hereby ruined by YOU. I hoped that the company come to realization that hiring you is a mistake (if they indeed still pay you a salary at the moment). If you are truly a employee and representing Tepui corp. on the online world, it is sad, it is indeed sad.

For the record, Tepui is going out of their way to take care of the people already involved and plans to fill existing orders.

of all the forum members here that was waiting in the group buy, who here has been taken care of by tepui as he says? I have not been personally contacted in any way, I'm just surprised that this abruptly ended right before it was supposed to start.. I don't want to seem sour, just the way this whole thing is being handled is absolutely not customer friendly... There is a reason for this not happening, and basically it came down to an agreement that was not met and puts us 20+ forum members out of luck besides the few that is being taken care (select few that had orders in??) ... Please explain what jicko did to break whatever agreement you guys had with her? It would really answer questions we definitely deserve.... I honestly think tepui is making a huge mistake, especially knowing there customers here in the forum are Toyota fans( a lot of us become Toyota buyers for life due to quality of product and the way Toyota takes care of there customers for the most part ) ... I am at lost to words why you guys would decline a group buy of 20+ buyers, it absolutely baffles me and on who made that decision?????

All these group buy prices are crazy you can order these tents from the source at alibaba for a fraction of the price. There's a reason why there's so many RTT companies coming out. People found the source and now they're whoring them out just like the red ring hids, and led bars. Hopefully that means one thing for us the customers that prices will drop dramatically soon and these tents will sell for what they're worth.

Tepui Clarification

Hey folks. This is Evan the founder of Tepui. Sorry I am mostly absent from forums and message boards keeping an eye on these discussions. Just super busy and having too much fun I guess. Finished our Lost Coat planning sesh yesterday and super excited about that.

In any case - this was originally intended as a club purchase for an overlanding group as we generally don't do your typical group buys as there is too much blow back from our dealers. That being said we'll honor the 20% discount to anyone on the list that is emailed to us Monday morning. I have a hold on all the tents or folks that were previously on the list which can ship out next week first come first serve. For anything out of stock we will honor the intent to purchase and discount as soon as your model arrives.

Just a note - We have green on black ruggedized models now and all Kukenam and Autana models now come stock as a Sky tent.

No, these are not comparable tents

That is a misconception.

The various rooftop tents on the market all look very much similar, and use a basic design template. However, the better brands have different specs for materials, hardware, small features, details of construction, etc. Customer service is another differentiator, of course.
