Security Alarm Blinking / Alarm won't set

Hi Everybody.

My 05 4runner has a little blinking red light on the dash panel on the left side of the steering wheel. For some reason now it won't even stop blinking while I'm driving, and the horn doesnt sound indicating the alarm is set after i lock the doors with the keyfob (or by double clicking the lock on the driver side door.)


Anyone ever encountered this???? Thanks in advance.

Sure did! When the little red security LED on the left is blinking constantly (regardless of whether the engine is on or not) it means the security system has been put into valet mode!!!!!! Wa Wa...

To switch back to normal mode (i.e non-constantly blinky mode) all you have to do is this:

1. Put the key in the ignition
2. Turn the key to the engine on position (do not start the engine) and then turn it off three times in a row.

That should do the trick. Let me know if you have any problems. Good luck and enjoy not having the light blink constantly!
