Security light does not blink

Hello everyone,i've recently purchased a 2000 4Runner Limited,and for some reason the security light on the dash does not flash after i take the key out of the ignition or when i lock the door.When i lock the door with the remote it stays on for 30 seconds and then it goes off,is this normal or do i need to reset my alarm,if so what are the steps for that.Any help will be kindly appreciated.

are you sure you have a factory alarm?

Roll down your windows
shut the doors and everything
lock the truck

open a door

if an alarm goes off you have an alarm, if not, you just, dont have a security system

Yes it does have the factory alarm and it works,the only thing is that the security light on the dash does not blink when i take the key out of the ignition neither when i lock the doors.

take the bezel off and make sure the plug for the light is plugged in

Guys,thanks for the replies,but my alarm is functioning correctly,the only problem that i have is that when it's armed the light does not blink like most of the alarms do,that is my only concern.Thanks anyway

so the LED works?

the LED may have burnt out, but if it lights up temporarily, then it shouldn't be that. If the alarm functions properly, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

When i lock the door with the key or the remote it remains on for 30 seconds,but i have noticed on other cars that the light blinks after 30 seconds,mine remains off but the alarm is functional,i would like it to blink so it when its armed
