Here in lies the root of our problems...illegal immigrants who take the lowest grades of work that our homeless should be working. They come in and all of a sudden get healthcare, Social Security, etc....

That's ok, I am not banking on Social Security anyways. Tell Uncle Sam to shove it up his @$$.

It helps. I recently moved to an area with parked photo vans, instant ticket in the mail. fun! Never heard of these before, does not really seem right.

They tried these van cams out in Hawaii, but we all stood up as a community and they did away with them.

Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky but someone obviously thought a speed limit was a good idea.

Remember to tell all your older cranky friends that the right lane is for older cranky people.

I cant stand it when there is a "turtle" in the left lane and when I finally pass them it is some old fart who shouldn't even be let out of the house let a lone behind the wheel of a killing machine.

That is one reason why I bought the 4R-the roll down back window....greatest feature yet (that and the folding down tray on the armrest...they kind of go hand in hand).


however, they way I roll....the cop would probably smell me rolling down my window from about 1/2 mile away.

Generally yeah I do. I hate getting tickets so I'm doing my part in hopes that one day karma will smile on me and get me out a nasty ticket. But if its schools or somewhere being slow is a good idea, then no I won't. Safety is just too important in those situations.

Here are downloadable files for those with compatible GPS models, If your GPS will allow you to edit or add POI, this are US Speedtraps added like POI in your GPS. A speedtrap icon will appear in your screen that you are approaching a speedtrap or traffic cameras so you can adjust your speed. I haven't tried it yet since my GPS model don't have the POI editor and an obsolete model. But most brands are supported, just click download and select the correct file for your GPS model.

You will do best by leaving your CB tuned to Channel 19; which is the so-called "Trucker's Channel."

If you can handle the potty-mouthed conversation there, you will get plenty of 'bear warnings' usually accompanied by the mile marker and direction he/she may be facing.

CB radios are best for Interstate highways or anywhere else there are a lot of big rigs; but they won't do much good for you in the city or in some suburban areas.

I am a trucker by trade and my CB radio has proved to be a valuable asset anytime I hit the road. Generally, I turn the squelch pretty far up so that I only get close signals (within one or two miles). Drivers who may be just ahead of me or coming towards me and passing a cop watching my side of the road; and they'll be sure to warn others of the impending danger.

CB radios are much more effective in places where other devices besides radar are being used. No detector is going to warn you about VASCAR, E.S.P., AccuTrac, VisiCalc or a 'bear in the air' measuring speed from above.

Yet another good reason to have a CB, this sounds like it would pay for itself right quick! I typically don't speed much, I usually set the cruise at 4 over and leave it be. What I absolutely despise is when there is a cop at the bottom of a huge hill I don't want to ride my brakes down so I pickup 8-10 MPH and they snag you at the bottom. Granted I've never been written a ticket but I know one day it'll happen. I always flash when I see a speed trap, I got passed by a cop on I-70 in between Haze, Ks and Limon, Co that was doing at least 100 mph w/o his lights on. My dad was doing 80 mph and he flew by us like we were standing still. I think speeding is a very minor problem, cops should be going after people that are actually causing problems like drunk drivers or people who blatantly run red lights, not speeders. Jm .02c

I used to until I realized that I was helping to encourage people to drive carelessly and endanger people, pets and kids.

I guess it helps that my road in front of my house, that my 11 year old son rides his bike on, is just like race road half the time. It's a 30mph zone and people routinely run 60+ down it and I'm right in the middle of a curve. I've actually chased people down before.

It kind of opens your eyes you know?
