Hello all--
I've spent a significant amount of time searching and haven't found a perfect corollary to my problem..
My key fob will lock all doors. The unlock does not work AT ALL--no click or anything. The lock switches inside the vehicle work for both unlocking and locking.
Based on this, I would normally assume the fob is the issue--however, when it is hot outside, some of the doors will not lock or unlock with the interior switch (although you will hear the actuators click weakly). The fob still function that way as well, again with no impulse at all from the unlock button.
Lots of problems seem to be fixed with the junction box but I'm not sure if I have a problem with both or not.
An 02 LTD has just rolled into the local junkyard and I'm thinking about just swapping out the junction box for 12$ or so, but is it possible that my fob is bad also?
Any ideas on the heat making the locks ineffectual?
