Hoping someone can help.

Last Friday my father in law mentioned my 4runner sound loud he was in the passenger seat. Mind you he is use to riding in a 2000 rx lexus.

I just had my rear brakes done two weeks ago. I have continental cross contacts they have about 10k on them. never have changed any transfer fluids or transmission fluid, runner has 57k miles on it 2007. the car is stock no lifts or anything.

To me it seems a little louder but never noticed really until he mentioned it.

Anyone thing I have an issue or i am just sensitive to it because he mentioned it.

any ideas will help...thanks

I'm guessing he probably was talking about ur tires. He's comparing a truck to a car.

So I had my local guy look at it he is thinking it is the rear differential taking it toyota today.

Is the rear diferential covered by the 60/60000 warrenty? I got 57k on the truck.

Groan this should be fun.

Exactly, he has a Lexus car and you have a real, body on frame, boxed frame truck.

Quietness is subjective and coming from him and his vehicle that bar is set pretty high. don't worry!

did you read my last post? the rear differential is shot.

:ybrick: Doh! Obviously I missed it!

With that said, will you get more of an idea as to why it is shot? With only 57k on it and no modifications you'll power-train will cover it IMO

I am praying it will be. The service guy tried to argue with me that the differential oil should be changed every 15k; I said no the book doesn't say that; it says only when towing. I have never towed a thing with that vehicle. It is grocery getter for my family.

I bought it in 2007 after my Grand Cherokee's transmission blew up at 95k; everyone in the family wanted another GC but I said no I am tired of dealing with their issues I am buying a Toyota and being done with it; 3 years later egg on my face.

Oh what a feeling! Toyota! Pfffff....

UPDATE

So they did the wheel bearing still making the noise! They are saying it is the brakes now, whatever just don't charge me.

I still say axle bearing or diff.

update two

They are going to replace the right side wheel bearing both axle bearings and the differential, will be done Tuesday.
