serious uneven tire (RF)

for some unknown reason, the inner side of right front tire on the 2006 4runner i just got last winter is almost bold. although the other three appear to be fine ( still more inner wear, but nothing as bad as the RF one).

anyone has similar issue as mine? tire is firestone destination AT.

the tire is 3 years old, and about 25k to 30k miles have been put on.

mileage could hardly be an issue since the other 3 look like they still have another 2 years/30k to go.

How often do you rotate? Keep up on the inflation/psi? When was your last alignment?

psi has been good since I got it. not sure about the alignment or rotation tho, I doubt the rotation could cause that much difference, i mean, RF tire is really bad, other 3 are still in fine range.

guess i will let dealer do an alignment and see what the report looks like..

will bad suspension cause bad tire wear as well? since I got Xreas and it about time to go out now. (110k miles / 6.5 years).

Not sure about suspension. If you wheel rotations regular, you should have the same uneven wear around any tire that you put on that front side it sounds like.

Most alignment shops only charge you if they need to adjust your alignment, do to not in spects and should explain why the uneven wear was happening.

Sounds like loose lower ball joint, loose tie rod, low tire pressure, or bad alignment. Any decent technician should be able to figure it out for ya, if not go to Toyota for alignment and they'll spot it
