Serpentine Belt and Pulleys

Hey folks, I've searched and searched and found info on the v8 serpentine belt replacement but nothing about the pulleys. I've found a variety of diagrams and I believe there is one upper idler pulley and then the pulley on the tensioner. My v8 is obnoxious with it's squeaks and it's steamboat exhaust manifold. Figure I'll tackle one at a time..

Anyway, has anyone replaced the tensioner and idler pulleys? To expand, I plan to do the whole tensioner, not just the pulley. Do I have it correct, that there are just the two to replace? Obviously I'll do the belt too. Anyone have part numbers? Toyota OEM, I've found:
- Tensioner - 16620-0W101
- Belt - 90916-02585
- Idler Pulley - ???????

Is this something we want to have OEM Toyota parts or would other brands suffice? If so, what is recommended?

This is for a 2005 v8 with about 125K miles. Thanks for the help!

I'd go with aftermarket for that type stuff, Gates or Goodyear belts are usually a good bet.

There is a reason your tensioner and pulleys lasted 125k. Go with the oe stuff and you will be fine! Yota always uses great suppliers who make quality stuff. You may find cheaper but you will not always find better...

I would never, ever go with aftermarket for those parts. There is way too much to risk.

I've been using aftermarket belts (Gates) for 30+ years. Gates and Goodyear belts are OEM suppliers to many auto manufacturers (Including Toyota). I wouldn't hesitate to use a good quality aftermarket belt.

How about the pulleys and such? I assume someone on here's done this maintenance? Any tips?

Oh, and I don't know the history of the 4Runner as I just recently bought it. Belt looks newish but pulleys look original.

What he said. They *are* OEM suppliers. I've been using them for 10+ years now.

What's wrung with the pulley's? It's extremely rare for them to wear out....even after several hundred thousand miles. The tensioner can wear out...but it's unlikely also.

Squeak is coming from lower area. Figured I'd just swap them both if it's not going to be a big bank breaker. 'While you're in there' kind of maintenance.
