Servicing 4wheel drive

How often do I need to service the 4 wheel drive unit? The dealer called it the transaxle

Don't rely on dealership advice.......they still try to get you to change the oil every 3K for nothing but their own profit.

ha Dealers... pretty sure 4runners don't have a transaxle. Change the front and rear diff oil/gear oil every 60,000+ miles. Also, change the gear oil in the transfer case at the same time.
