Severe service and free maintenance

Hello

Girlfriends 2015 4Runner is coming up on its 6 month service. It currently has 3,300 miles on it. It is driven on a 0.8 mile drive to work daily, 5 days a week, and 1 miles back in the evening. I understand this is considered "severe service" by Toyota.


With the 2 years free maintenance, will this also cover the severe service schedule? (Which indicates oil changes at 6 month OR 5,000 miles)

She needs to drive it more than that or she will have trouble in the future, make sure she is at least driving it enough on the weekends to get the engine up to temp
 
My dealer told me that the free service only covered the standard oil change and tire rotation. Anything else would have to be paid for. They may do a more frequent oil change (5k instead of 10k) but you won't get 2 years of service. I was able to get the dealer to change my oil early, but he said it was my last free oil change. Hope that makes sense.
 
Hola, just had my 1st oil change on Wednesday under Toyota Care - I'm a telecommuter and travel often for work (fly) and have very low miles as well/my dealer said I'm due every 6.5 to 7.5 months and that I am covered under Toyota care for the oil change. They did note my file that I do not drive often and it was best for the engine as bought the truck in July. Good luck!

^This! Or at the very least an electric if she has some mobility issues. Save the 4runner for vacations!

Running a gasoline engine that little is crap on the entire system... letting it warm up at idle for twenty minutes is no better, just saying :)
 
Synthetic cars under Toyota care 5k 15k 25k rotate only and 10k and 20k oil and rotate. Total of 5 free services 2 years or 25k whichever comes first

And if you don't drive enough and want to skip the 5k and do the 10 so you get an oil change too dealer can't refuse.

that's so in the future if you have sludge issues or engine or exhaust corrosion they can deny the warranty claim
 
I gotta ask - is there some sort of disability involved? .08 miles is a ridiculously short commute. She could probably walk it quicker if a light or two is along the way.
 
Take it for the 6 month/5K mile service. I took mine for the 5K mile service (at about 3 months) and had them also change the oil. They gave me the option to pay for the oil change or "use one of the free ones." I paid for it. I'm almost due for the 10K mile service now (I've owned it just over 6 months) which will be one of the free oil changes.
