shallcallhimtim build

shallcallhimtim Connor I would have to say your girlfriend has received a wonderful set of high beams up front, or she has recently got a boob job. Now I hear more work of sticking some junk near the trunk? SICK! Let's go out again in January when I'm back! I can't wait to go bash snow!

I am going to have to say, I was sleepy until I read this...

:worthless

ANNOUNCEMENT EVERYONE!!!

Connor is about to update his build here in a few days with some DOPE Stuff CBI is hooking him up with and that will be available to the public once they are done building it.
Thanks to Connor, he let CBI use his 4th gen over Christmas and new years to design a new ........ sorry not going to say it right now. wait for him. also ive seen pictures of it and let me say. CBI OffRoad Fab does some amazing stuff!

:pop2: great looking build, cant wait to see what CBI has done to your rig keep the mods coming

Ok! So it's not finished but this is what CBI has been coming up with. They said they have gone through many ideas and designs and this is close to the finished product.

This thing is crazy light and build to take a beating! The main tube that runs closest to the truck is (if I remember correctly) 2inch tube with a 1/4 wall so it can take the same abuse as the plate. Also, the weight... 75/80lbs roughly. I picked it up with one arm. With a swing out I think it will top out at close to 100lbs maybe more with your options.

Please let me kno what you guys think. I think it looks pretty bad ass but I'm trying to get some feed back for the guys in the shop so let me know!

awdjunkies zopperman you guys might like this option

This would have been perfect for me 3 years ago as a beefed up bumper guard. I usually leave my trailer hitch in to prevent people from hitting me, but that looks badass.

Wouldn't work for me ATM because my endcap is damaged and I want a replacement. SO if I had to buy the CBI + stock plastic covers, it would end up costing as much as a full bumper.

Still cool though. Do you lose any clearance from the mounting points? Kinda hard to see in the pics

Sorry! Should have post this picture too! The bumper actually mounts to the frame in the exact way as the full plate one does. The thing is you have to trim the edge of the plastic bumper cover so the bumper edges bend with the curves of the bumper cover.

Nope! You actually gain roughly 4 to 5 inches. You have to trim a good bit of the bumper cover. It doesn't look like much but it is just because that cover is massive!

Yeah I see now that you posted the other pic. I don't love the idea of trimming, since you can't go back from that, but it is definitely a cool option. Any idea what the price point is gonna be?

Totally love the bumper/guard, but like Zopperman said, The trimming is something that would deter me from getting one.. I know that's insignificant to some.

shallcallhimtim I know you said, you may have a picture without the stock bumper but would there be an option down the line to where it fits over the stock one without any cutting?

Just a thought.

PS: I love the "Jeeps are Cute" decal

Yeah I get what you guys are saying about the trimming. I'm going to email Nathan at CBI and share y'all's ideas with him. The only way I can think to get away from trimming is to just remove the center section of the bumper. The only down fall with that is you can't just remove the middle on the 06+ models.
