The thing with this bumper was the weight. It's designed to be at light as possible. The trimming seems to be the big part that no one really likes.

Of you guys have any other ideas that you would add or change, please keep the ideas coming!

What about just making it a tube style or hybrid that replaces the rear cover altogether? Tubes with the side plates filled in would be sick.

That's kinda what this started out as. The problem with a full tube bumper was that the plastic bumper cover is so big that the tube just would look kinda weird. There would just be a ton of tubing.

True. But I think if they filled in the tubes with plates on the side covers it would help to make it a little less tube ish. Sorta like the Savage offroad ones for the third gens

Sorry i can't img code this, but here's a link

Toyota Gen 3 4Runner Rear Tube Bumper

Like that, but use plating on the sides, like 1/8" just for aesthetics.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from.. Like the ones on the 3rd gen.

EXACTLY!!! what I was thinking/envisioning

I can only see a couple of the pictures, do they plan on connecting the sides of the main tube to another tube or plate? Similar to the Savage 3rd gen tube bumper sides linked above? I would be worried hooking the end and having it crank the rest of the bumper into the back of the truck.

Oh yeah! Very good point. You would still have to do some cutting on the plastics though. It's just cuz the side of the plastic is so tall.

Another thing is the flare. The tube would have to be bushed out to clear that.

Can't they make it follow the lines line the plate bumper? Or just do a full plate side with tubes in the rear.

Welp kids! Here it is!!! Sorry it took me so long to get the pictures up.

We put some of the trim around the edge of the plastics just like they do when they cut the bottom of the beds on the Tacoma.

Im going to get some paint on it this weekend. Also we are talking about filling in this open section with a cross member and then some dimple died plate to add for some more protection and to clean things up.

I really like the subtle look of this. I was thinking I'd forgo a rear bumper because of how massive they all are, but this thing would be perfect!

Yeah it's really nice! The weight totaled to be around 90 pounds which is awesome! I curled it a few times before we put it on hahaha

So I finally got around to painting the bumper and I took care of some other things too

Took care of some wiring and repainted my ditch light brackets
