My cup holder must be broken then. I thought it was just a really poor design, but that cup holder won't hold anything. A cup doesn't sit straight in the holder, they tilt about 20 degrees on either side.

So it's only good for holding a cup if it's half empty and you're not actually driving around, lol.

So yeah.. I guess mine's broken.

As much as it's a quality product, I don't see myself spending 100$ on a cupholder. I'll just continue to sue the rear passenger cup holders for my drinks, lol.

Where did you see $100? The front double for the gen 3 is $52. The front single cup holder is $40. Double Cup Holder for 96-02 Toyota 4Runner | BH3D Printing

Oh, in that case try an '01-'02 with the cup holders in the center, those really warm up a nice cold drink with the tranny heat! haha lol!

Yep the price is steep! I only bought for a couple reasons: can't find a good holder, I'm anal and like the fact it looks close to factory, I need a cup holder and really to support someone doing something for the Toyota community. I've found many people thru Tacomaworld, ih8mud and T4R communities using their funds and ingenuity to make things that have been discontinued, hard to find or don't exist and I commend them. I'm sure my expensive cup holder will outlast the many cheapo holders that you pay $10 here and there for. On another note, I wouldn't pay $100 either! Lol.

I would.

Very few things on my truck aggravate me every day. The stock in-dash cup holder is one though. From bumps in the road making my drink spill, to condensation dripping all over — the stock cup holder is total crap.

Until Bhicks22 made these new cup holders specifically for our trucks, our options have been limited to just living with it, buying some generic fitting made-in-China crap that won't fit/look right or sourcing a 99+ console and retrofit it for our year trucks. Not everyone is willing to dig through junk yards for the console and then do the required modifications (including re-wiring/routing switches to the dash) just so they don't have to deal with shitty in-dash cup holders.

Considering that just replacing the crappy dash cup holder with another OEM one will set you back $50-60! Whereas a custom designed, robust, made in America cup holder that addresses specifically the shortcomings of the dash cup holder — is a steal at $52!

As others have said, you also supporting a fellow forum member who is doing something for the Toyota community. Plus you can expect prompt customer service from Brad should you need it.

I bought a double cup holder from the first batch and I was happy to pay $52. And honestly, if I lived in Canada I would still pay the increased shipping and exchange rate.

Shipping outside the US is one of those expenses I just can't absorb. I do my best with the shipping rates. I can do a very slightly flawed print to Canada for $45. It's not perfect but really close and will fit and function perfect. I also have prototypes that are perfect but may have a tiny gap here or there for the same price.

Don't get me wrong. My beef is not that the quality product has a 50 dollar price tag, my beef is that I have to pay 90 dollars for something that's 50 dollars.

It's not [MENTION=124475]bhicks22[/MENTION] fault that the Canadian economy is in the crapper. lol. What burns me is that if this were 8-12 months ago, our dollar was on par with yours. If all I had to pay was an extra 15 for shipping it across the border, I'd be all over it.

If I can't have BH3D's cupholder, I'd rather have no cup holder at all.

BTW, I also do not use my cupholders on a daily basis. I only drive my T4R around town maybe once a week. It's not my DD. I'm never out on the road long enough with it to even need a fully functional cupholder. Like I said, I can get by with just using the rear passenger ones instead. I never have any passengers with me anyway, my wife hates riding in it, especially since I don't have AC. Se also dislikes how cold the leather seats are in the winter. She only like my T4R cause it makes ME happy, lol.

But no worries, if our Looney picks up steam again, I might just come back to buy one of those fancy cupholders, lol.
