USB cable routing from cig lighter to magsafe

This has to have been covered, but searching isn't bringing up anything.

Got a new magsafe holder for my cell phone and it clips to the AC vent. USB cable for power runs from a plug in the cigarette lighter but I hate random cables.

How are you guys hiding/routing cables like this? First thought was to simply pop up the ac vent trim/center console and tuck it behind, but it fits so tightly I'm betting it'll eventually cut the usb cable.

Second thought was to run it behind the console and exit out of the AC vent.

May not be as clean as you're looking for, but I have an aftermarket head unit that has USB ports in the back for charging and data access. I ran the cables behind the dash and into the glove box. Cables are either in the glove box or run through the closed glove box door when in use.

I leave my USB external (so I can remove the phone from the mount and hold it or the passenger can use the phone as needed. I do have a ham radio head mounted up above the vents next to the phone mount though, and I run the cable for that up behind the dash. It is all attached to this phone mount from Spiker Engineering:

I drilled a hole 'up' right next to the mount and run all the needed wires through a rubber grommet. It is hidden by the mounts once everything is installed. Sorry, no pictures... maybe I should take one!

I ended up running the cable under the console and up and out of the AC vent where the magsafe mount attaches. Easy peasy.

Nice, sounds like a good solution. I did something similar, here are some pics of how it looks.
