I recently wrecked my 04 4runner as soon as I got it the way I wanted it (of course). I found another 04 with only 93k miles on it so I bought it. Theres a few stains and it just needs to be cleaned up a bit. Any tips for getting stains out of seats? Any specific products you use? Also...not crazy about the dash in this one. My last one was cracked but not quite as bad. Soulution?

i use a bissell little green on my seats and it pulls stains no problem, a good upholstery cleaner in the tank and youre golden

I use Folex buy it at Lowes.
Spray it on the stain rub with soft brush then use shop-vac to get it out.'

I know this is extreme, but my dog one time had diarrhea and vomitting ALL over my front two seats. I cleaned it up but the stains were pretty bad. The seats were just all around dirty to begin with, so I tried something you may or may not want to try. I took the seats out, sprayed them with a degreaser mixed in with dawn dish soap. Sprayed it on. Then i put it in the back of a tacoma and took it to the self service car wash. People say the seats rip but mine did not even budge. I pressure washed all the stains and crud off and i kid you not, the seats looked brand new. I did have manual seats so don't attempt this with power seats. Or with side air bags. Left them out in the sun for 3 days and they were completely dry. Brand new seats.

I use Tuf Stuff in the yellow can with a brush on mine. Works great.

I read an article in a 4-Wheeler mag and it had pics of a dodge ram with gross seats in it. They used that little green clean machine and they showed a pic of half the seat done and dried and it was a night and day difference. So if you can find one of those I'd go with that. I plan on it once it actually gets to be summer.

I have some similar foam stuff, it works well on grease stains, but my daughter had vomited recently and I cant get that stain out.:redface:
also, learned the hard way, don't use a brush that is too rough or tough. I made that mistake, it didn't rip the seats, but gave it a worn, lil bit unthreaded look. Luckily it was only in a small spot.

Tuff Stuff is good. I have also had good results with Blue Coral Dri Clean

The very best way to clean cloth seats in any vehicle is to remove the seat covers and wash them in the washing machine. It takes a little more time, but the results are the best. Any cleaner you use on the surface will push the stain deeper into the fabric, lots of water helps but if the cover is still on the frame the foam in the seat is soaked. Spilled drinks usually are soaked up by the foam too. Do not dry them in the dryer!
Removing the covers is not hard, and to reinstall them you will need some hog rings and hog ring pliers.

I detail cars, and normally if they are small stains will use cleaners like the ones mentioned on the previous page. But if the seats are stained in a more extensive manner we just remove the seats and pressure wash them.
1)Unhook battery.
2)Unhook all electronics from under the seat. Remove motor of seat if necessary.
3)Soak in a degreaser.
4)Pressure wash.
5)Soak up as much water with vacuums and towels as possible.
6)Place in front of fans for about 6 hours.
So under extreme circumstances this is a good option and is really straight forward if you don't have electronic powered seats.

x2. Just used my little green in my runner and it worked great. My particular model does not have a heater so I put hot water out of the tap in the tank before I use it. Trust me, get one of these things and you will not believe you lived it without it. I used it for cleaning upholstery, carpeting, etc around the house and in my cars. Works great!
So I recently had a coffee explosion ALL OVER the passenger seat and I decided that I want to remove the seat covers and machine wash them. Does anyone have any ideas on how to free it from the headrest anchor? Once I succeed with the passenger I would like to move on to the rear seat(s) and eventually the driver seat.
