Shank/washer type lugnuts for steel spare?

Lugnuts...

I've never owned aluminum wheels before, and now have four alloy(hub centric) wheels and the expected steel(lug centric) spare rim/tire, all OEM.
Will the shank/washer alloy-style lug nuts work for the steel spare?
Are there any restrictions...distance, speed, etc?
Curiously, the owner's manual says to use tapered lugnuts--and illustrates same--with the steel spare.

They will work as this is what was provided from the factory.


The oem shank washer lug nuts have a conical seat on them for the spare steel wheel.

i have a 3rg gen steel 16" for a spare on my 4th gen.

the lugs required on my steelie are Cone Seat aka conical or tapered lug nuts.

my nuts on my 4th gen are ET flat ones. like the ones in this middle picture

From my understanding your factory lugnuts will work for the reason described by singtoe. If you buy new lugnuts just make sure they are the 60° cone seat for steel wheels.

bringing back an old one but does anyone know the size of the OEM washer from the middle picture?
