The video is horrible to watch not so much because of the graphic nature,but because you can hear him calling out for his dad. Terrible to listen to this man call for his father while he is being beaten and tasered to death.

The cops beat and tasered a man to death up here in Lake Arrowhead in May too. He ran a stop sign. When he didn't respond to the Sheriffs as quickly as they would like, they tasered him multiple times until his heart gave out and he died.
The victims father was also a 20+ year reserve Sheriff in the same county. I knew the man personally and my sister was in the same high school class and knew him well. He was a gentle soul and did not deserve to loose his life because he rolled through a stop sign. The cops said he was combative, but they also confiscated the security tape from the gas station where the incident occurred and no one has been allowed to see it... hmm...
Who knows what really happened, but I know Alan (man who they killed) was not a criminal.

The Jury Is in deliberations Now and a verdict is expect on Monday.

I have followed this case from day one because I have some close friends that work there. I'm still not sure what to make of it really. They did F up big time but I still can't see second-degree homicide for Ramos. The intent factor still is not there for me. They are all guilty of excessive force no question about it but we will see what happens in the end. My thoughts are with all of them.

Regardless of the outcome of the criminal trial, the impending civil action will destroy anything that's left of these guys' lives.
I should add, I know nothing about this case, haven't even heard of it. That being said, I didn't see that taser was involved in the defense, not a good sign.

Stuff like this makes us all sad.
But I treat it the same as I do the video of the Marines that threw a puppy off a cliff in Iraq a few years ago.
Those guys were not representative of military as a whole, they were bad apples.
The same thing for stuff like this. Cops don't go around beating people to death.
Personally I do believe in civilian review of police departments. Also I don't think police records involving crimes should be sealed. These stories of cops with years of records of crimes, sometimes settled, sometimes covered up, then at year 15 they kill someone. Public oversight and weeding out the bad apples much sooner is greatly needed.
