Sherpa handle light brackets with Baja Designs rock lights.

Last 2 pics were taken with no other lights on in the garage, but light is shining off the wall, making it seem brighter.

The fit is perfect. Illumination is enough for my needs. I really like how sleek this side lighting setup is compared to others that are mounted on the outside of the rack. The fit and finish of the light brackets and the whole rack from Sherpa is spot on in every aspect.

That install looks great! Glad to hear you like the setup and the lights are working well for you!

I'm so upset with about missing the black friday sale. Does anyone know if Sherpa is having a Christmas sale?

How did you run the wires to the battery? Could you post a few shots of that?

I extended the wires from all the rock lights and ran them to the passenger side of the roof. I tucked up the wiring in the channels on the underside of the crossbars and secured them with zip ties. I made sure to place zip ties in spots where it would not affect the way I mount my gear. I then tucked in the wires down the channel of the passenger side windshield (the driver side windshield channel already has my roof light bar wiring tucked in). I popped off the plastic panel at the base of the windshield to snake the wires through, then sent them over to my fuse block.

The BD rock lights didn't come with a relay or switch so I wired up my own relay, and ran it into the interior to my switch.

I'm also looking to figure out how to not have the lights have to be mounted on top of the rack so that it sticks up 2" above everything else.

The spaces are pretty tight by my measurements (see below).

I think I could squeeze something like a 10" Baja S8 lightbar underneath in the middle for a chase, but I'd have to make a custom bracket, as their standard install takes up 2.5 inches, even though the bar itself is only 1.6 (per their website).

As far as work lighting goes, still thinking. If I could attach a bracket to the bottom of a cross bar and then fit the light behind the cross bar, that would help it stick out a bit less up top, perhaps.

If the Tent is perfectly flat, and comes with its own mounting hardware, I'm assuming not needed? I contacted Sherpa and they recommended the tent mounts.

Those look like they work well, the Baja Designs S2 none flush mount also mount up nicely on the back. It will be tight with the hatch and I haven't personally seen it done on a 5th gen before. One thing you could do it rotate the rear crossbar down so it's vertical like the front bar, then only use 2 bolts to secure it or drill out the lower one if wanted. This will gain you another inch of space for mounting lights back there.

We recommend the Tent Risers for the hard-shell tents that are prone to flexing as they can rattle against the roof rack over hard bumpy roads. The tent risers allow the tent to only contact where it is mounted and it makes for a much quieter ride. This is very apparent on the fiberglass tents that have the mounting rail flush-mounted inside them as well as some of the heavier aluminum tents. Not needed for a tent install by any means, but they certainly serve a purpose.

There is about 1-1.5 inches of front to back adjustability. The wind fairing is also adjustable forwards and backwards. Here is how I have mine:

You have around an inch of adjustment forwards and back to get it to your liking. This allows for some discrepancy in the roof mounting points from the factory as they are not 100% the same across the vehicles.

They can be used with the seat up or down, they are however out of stock right now. We are holding off on producing more until we are caught up with all current orders and our roof rack lead times are shortened.

I was able to mount both S2s and S1s on the bottom side of the last crossbar as chase lights. However, if you are going to use rear lights as camp or work lights you will most likely have to mount them on the top side on the furthest channel.

Took some photos after work so I hope this helps some of y’all. Keep in mind the S1s are a bit taller so you’ll have more clearance to your roof line with S2s. I ended up moving them onto my rear bumper as camp/reverse lights.

And if anyone is interested...I run these side lights. I got the idea from the taco forum and they ALMOST sit flush with the top edge of the rack. The guys over there said they were nearly identical to the Rigid ones but at a 1/3 of the cost.
